My husband and I spent 2 weeks at Paul's condo. The condo is very spacious with 3 bdrms and 2.5 baths. The kitchen was well stocked which we appreciated as we like to cook a few meals of our own, the AC was an added bonus in the bdrms to cool us down after a hot day, the winds keep the main areas cool. The swimming pool and roof top patio were spot on. My only negative, and it has nothing to do with the condo is that there are loads of street dogs &cats which we fed daily and wanted to take all of them home. This is a beach condo, not the Hilton. If you like to mix with the locals and blend in to their culture I highly recommend this place. There are buses daily to Progresso just 2 blocks away, a grocery store by the main square called Willys. The beach area is not really for swimming as it's pretty dirty and rough right outside the condo but a short walk further east up the road, the beach widens and is perfect for jumping in. There are loads of little stores to purchase fresh fruits, and there is always someone along the streets with good eats. A day trip to Merida is a must, so much to see and a big beautiful city. We have talked about going back but making it a mission & not a vacation to round up as many animals to get them spayed & neutered. Please, if you go, please help out a local stray as these babies are hungry and need help. Thank you Paul for sharing your condo with us, we truly enjoyed our time away from the snow and cold.
