The villa was well situated for the local beach, minutes away, as well as for a number of local bars & restaurants. The small bedroom downstrais was very hot and stuffy whilst we where there. However discovered another double bed in the living room settee which was much more comfortable with the Aircon in that room. Be aware of parking outside next doors Villa as they have a permit to stop such things, I was fined 30 Euro for the pleasure and alamost had the car towed away by the local Police, you have been warned. The grandson enjoyed the pool , however it is open to interpretation of the depth signs as it gets deeper than indicated, he was also upset there wasnt a DVD player for his cartoons and movies. Overall a good location with a small supermarket around the corner which sold most things and a number of reasonable restaurants near by. .

estupenda casa

hola esta propiedad era tal y como ponia en el anuncio.Nosotros viajamos con niños pequeños y disfrutaron mucho,la playa estaba cerca de la propiedad y no hace falta el coche.Tienes bares alrededor ,farmacia supermercados es decir de todo.La propiedad estaba limpia y la persona en entregar las llaves era muy simpatica,Por la noche esta todo muy tranquilo,la verdad que se descansa muy bien.lo unico que no me gusto es saliendo de la cocina hay un cerramiento de uralita y por ello hacia mucho calor en la cocina y al medio dia no se podia cocinar del calor q se acumulaba.pero buen de todas formas estaba perfecto,quise volver al año siguiente pero no tenian libre.Otro año espero poder alquilarlo.Para terminar dire que mi mascota tambien estuvo agusto.

October at El Mojon Appartment Helen

Facilities and accomodation were all excellent. We ate in most of the time, so we know the kitchen was easy to use and well resourced. We bought at the large local market at San Pedro on the Monday as recommended by the localcouple looking after the place. Because it was October I think we only used the airconditioning once as the weather was warm rather than hot, however I did use the pool 3 times in the week and very pleasant it was. The pool was great for adults and older children but deep for toddlers. we enjoyed sitting outside by the pool and round the table reading and having lunch The property was well maintained and clean. We didn't have problem with privacy as the netting was in front of gates when we got there.

I would like to return to it with my family including my grandson as it is so near to clean beaches and has a comfortable and relaxed feel to it.

As far as activities are concerned we spent 3 days locally, walking south through salt lake and dunes area to the small harbour one day, lunching at a resteraunt at the harbour. One day on the beach to the north which were better for smimming and local facilities, and at least 3 hours at the local market on Monday. Great variety of food, clothes etc. not touristy very real.

I did a day's diving with Max Scuba Diving which is based south of Torrevieja. We dived off a cove just round from Cartagna Harbour, suprisingly tranquil and pretty with clear waters, not too deep which was great for a new diver like me and plenty of fish to see. Tony and Lin who run the Centre are very friendly and we ended the trip with a beer back at base

We enjoyed trips out in the car to "Parque Regional de Calblanque", lovely natural area with great beaches, Murcia which has a good Art Gallerie, but is not fun to drive into and to Elche which we really liked and which has an abundance of palm trees especially in its great Botanical gardens.

Although I was put off at first by the number of high rise appartments we drove past on our way from the airport it was a lot less in your face at El Mojon with lots of open space for walks. I would recommend using a car just in case the whether is a bit iffy as it was for us the first 2 days of our one week stay

What a fabulous Villa. Excellent facilities, very spacious, clean and a great local bar (if you run out of anything). The pool was a real bonus after the long hot days we had in September. The bedrooms were decorated to a very good stadard and the master suite had its own private balcony. Everything you need for either a weekend break or a 2 week holiday was right here, tv (dvd may be useful for a longer stay), fully equipped kitchen with lots of pans (there's a hidden meaning there from our stay), washing machine, utility room with more chairs and sun loungers, games and pool equipment. Nice lounge with dining area, comfy sofa's (kept clean from using throws). The caretakers did a very good job at looking after the villa from the last holiday makers and left a welcome pack for us. The local shop has all you need for some inventive meals and Tony's bar 2 minutes walk away served good food and drinks with lots of entertainment. A car would be useful for those wanting to venture away for a day - but why would you when the suns shining and its hot and the pools there for cooling you down. There are some faciliies for someone who is less abled. ie slope into the pool and a soft floor area, along with a ramp to the front door. Highly recommended and hopefully "the girls" will be able to revisit in 2011. Taxi to the Airport from the villa can be arranged from Tony's bar. My only suggestion for the villa is some extra towels. All in all - fantastic value for money and a great time awaits when you stay here.

Party of 6

Our party of 6 was on a fairly tight budget which is one of the reasons we chose this villa. We flew to Alicante rather than Murcia as the flights were slightly cheaper. The journey from the airport took about an hour. JK Villa rentals arranged our transfer which was a great start to the holiday as Glynn the driver was very friendly and informative. He even gave us a guided tour of the surrounding area while we were waiting for the keyholder to arrive. My first impressions of the villa were good; however I was slightly unsure about the area as there seemed to be nothing around. The villa is situated on a quiet residential street only 200 metres from the beach in the village of El Mojon. The village was not like the usual tourist areas I am used to but grew on me as the week went on. There is one supermarket literally two minutes walk away and 4 restaurant/bars within the same distance. It is very quiet and therefore very easy to relax by the pool. For a bit more choice of places to eat we took a taxi into Lo Pagan which cost about 8 euros. The Villa was very clean and spacious enough to accommodate 4 adults and two children. We were slightly disappointed to find there was no dvd player or stereo as advertised on the JK Villa Rentals website however the villa had satellite tv with many english channels. The Villa is fully air conditioned and this is just as well as temperatures were in the mid 30's and only slightly below at night. The pool area was very spacious although not particularly private as walkers by could easily see through the gates or over the wall. There was not much shade as only one umbrella is provided. The pool has been recently installed and is suffering a few teething problems. A number of tiles came off and my daughter cut both of her toes on the sloped area. The pool maintenance people are aware of this problem. There is a lovely promenade leading down to the beach whichis lovely and sandy with a couple of bar/restaurants. There were a lot of English people in the area and the bar round the corner "Bar Vitto" is owned by two very friendly English couples. They host various activities such as Karaoke night, bingo and a quiz night. There are no banks in El Mojon so if you do need to get to a cash machine you will need to go to one in the nearby town of San Pedro or Pilar de Horadada both about 8 euro cab journey or 45 minute walk. Overall we had a lovely time and the villa is definately good value for money

We forwarded your comments to the villa owner and are glad to advise the following new additions at the villa - a DVD Player & a Music system. Steps have also been taken to make the garden area more private - the Double Gates have been covered with netting so passers by cannot look in. The perimeter wall is head height and with the newly planted bushes and shrubs which hug the wall (see photo above) will soon exceed the wall height, we think for 2011 season the bushes will be higher than the wall offering full privacy. We confirm there is a large umbrella outside covering the dining area, which offers good shade. The construction of the Swimming pool finished only a few weeks before your arrival. As regards the loose pool tiles the villa Housekeepers informed us that the loose pool tiles appeared immediately after your stay, we contacted the Pool cleaner and was informed on several occasions your children were seen swinging from the large hand rail which runs the length of the pool slope. This action had caused some of the pool tiles at the base of the handrail to come loose. We contacted the Pool Company and can confirm the tiles have now been replaced and the handrail has been strengthened. - Thank you

Beautiful house and pool in great location

This is a truly lovely house in an excellent location. It was spotlessly clean, well-equipped and maintained, with very helpful local keyholders. The pool had just been completed and was absolutely superb. We spent hours just sitting around it, going for a dip, eating outside in the evenings. An umbrella and a tree by the pool provide ample shade in a garden which gets the sun all day. The house has a lovely double bedroom with its own balcony overlooking the pool, whilst the other two bedrooms are both twins. The whole house has a really pleasant, relaxing atmosphere which is enhanced by some very sympathetic lighting, something we appreciated on one very rainy evening!

It is literally a five minute walk out of the house into a magnificent nature reserve which stretches for miles with waymarked paths and a visitor centre. We are not birdwatchers but were absolutely knocked out to see hundreds of flamingoes and a whole range of different wading birds both in the water and whizzing around our heads - an amazing experience. Anyone who was a keen birdwatcher would be thrilled at the diversity of the wildlife here. The guy we spoke to at the information centre was clearly an expert on the local ecology and a mine of information.

We chose not to rent a car for our holiday and had no problem at all getting around the area and to and from the airport using very reasonable local taxis. I'll be recommending the house to friends who have limited mobility - there is full wheelchair access into the property and up the ramp onto the ground floor. The downstairs bedroom is accessible but at the moment the small bathroom next to it wouldn't allow a wheelchair in. It would be fine for people with some mobility. The anti-slip ramp and rails into the pool are an unusual feature and would also be very helpful.

Our holiday was in mid-June and the whole place was very quiet and peaceful with a lovely promenade along the sea front and a very nice beach to the north. People told us it only gets busy in July and August. Whilst the pool obviously makes it nice for families, I think the house would really suit older people looking for a quiet, relaxing and interesting holiday. I just loved it and can honestly say I enjoyed every minute I spent here. I will definitely visit again and for a longer stay.

Cleaning Fee:
Please note an additional charge of €80.00 Euros is required for end of vacation cleaning which is payable on arrival to the key holder.

Booking Notes:
A non-refundable deposit of 25% of the total is required to secure the booking. The balance is due 2 months prior to holiday dates.

Changeover Day:
Normally Rentals can start from any day of the week (Except high season – Please ask) Access to the property on the day of arrival is normally from 16.00hrs. The property must be vacated by 12.00hrs on the day of departure to allow for cleaning prior to the arrival of the next occupants. These time can be flexible please ask and we will do our best to accommodate your requirements.

You will be met on arrival at the villa by the key holder or a representative of JK villa rentals. On departure day we will come and collect the keys. We reserve the right to make alternative arrangements for late arrivals or early departures (such as collecting / returning the keys to our local office key box).

In the unfortunate event you have to cancel your reservation we will always try our best to sell your dates and villa to an alternative family – if we are successful we will refund your payment less a 10% administration charge.
