First floor unit available in the heart of Narragansett Pier. This unit has a lovely front porch and a private back porch for this unit only. The unit has 2 bedrooms with queen size beds. The full bathroom has a washer and dryer. Private parking and fenced in back yard with picnic table and grill.
The unit has 2 beach passes, there is street parking for the beach. Only residents are allowed to park in the town parking lot. The house is located about 1 mile from the beach, so it is a pleasant walk along the seawall.
There are several dining spots within walking distance of this unit- from casual Crazy Burger and PJ's Pub to the elegant Coast Guard House and outdoor dining at Trio's. There is a playground with fenced in children's area, a lighted basketball court and a ball field around the corner from the house. There are 3 children friendly restaurants near the playground- PJ's Pub which has a lively sports bar with a versatile menu. The Bike Stop, which is decorated with bicycles and movies of biking, has a varied menu and great pizza. The Crazy Burger is busy morning,noon, and night, people sit out on the sidewalk waiting to get in, it is a BYOB. It has been featured in the TV show Diner, Dives and Drive Ins. It has out door seating and has an eclectic menu. Farther down the street, but certainly within walking distance are Trio's, Turtle Soup (overlooking the water) and the famous Coast Guard House, which has an upstairs deck for cocktails and dining- these are a little more upscale but still casual.
This area is the "town" -- there are little shops and an ice cream store. The town library is there too and offers story hours, day time movies, and other community events. On Friday nights in the summer, there are free concerts at the "Gazebo" in the center of town, people bring there own chairs and refreshments and enjoy the view of the ocean and listen to the bands. The Towers hosts a couples "dance night" on Thursdays and that is open to the public. There are various festivals and art shows during the summer in the park and the famous "Blessing of the Fleet" 10K road race and festival on the 3rd weekend in July. Everything is centrally located and very enjoyable for people of all ages.
Two blocks from the house at the beginning the seawall is Monahan's Dock. There is always a line for traditional chowder and clamcakes and the usual clam shack fare. They also have an ice cream bar and outside seating overlooking Monahan's Dock and Narragansett Bay. A perfect place to grab a bite to eat after a walk along the seawall.
There are lots of places to explore by car,-----Watch Hill (30 minutes), Village of Wickford (15 minutes), Jamestown (15 minutes) , and Newport (30 minutes) and Providence and its spectacular Water Fire and famous Federal Hill is 45 minute. All fun and easy destinations.
