My family of four stayed here for 8 days. We were welcomed warmly and efficiently by a gentleman who made sure we had everything we needed, he reached out periodically to make sure we were ok( big plus). The property a bit dated but really comfortable and had everything we could possible need, we were able to cook and enjoy the gracious fruits on the compound, so happened mangos were in season so there were ample supply. Each morning we started our day with an indulgement of the spectacular views of the mountains. Fairly close to town and the beach. Overall we loved it and plan on staying here when we visit again. One downside WISH there was a pool, so much space...
Thank you Vanda Thomas for your quick responses and delivering on everything promised.
We - a family of four adults - stayed at the villa this summer. The Villa was spacious and comfortable with a lovely garden and stunning views from the veranda. We had everything we needed annd excellent service when needed. The provision of a mobile phone with a local sim was a real boon for making arrangements to see friends and relatives on the island. Buses into town are frequent, cheap and a real experience. It is also easy to get around the island using taxis. There is plenty to do and see in St Vincent and a visit to Bequia is a must.
My family and my sisters family spent an enjoyable two weeks at this villa, there were seven of us in all. It was very clean ,there was more than enough space for us all and we even had the boys cousin to stay for a weekend. One thing we didnt like about the villa was the lack of natural light but everything else was great. The facilities were all available for our use. It was like being home from home. We had internet access, games, DVDs and made use of them. The balcony and the garden was amazing not to mention the fruit trees. Ummm coconut and mango for breakfast! The villa is located in quiet surroundings with beautiful views. I would not hesitate to recommend this villa to anyone.
We went to Buccament beach which is really nice, as for the hotel, WOW! We took the ferry to Beqiua and had a guided tour of the very beautiful Island, We also went to Dark View Falls, Botanic Gardens and Owia Salt Pond These places are a MUST to see especially Owia. The six men climbed up La Soufre while my sister and I enjoyed a lazy day sunbathing on the balcony.
The mini buses run often. You have to have at least one ride on them to experience them! Most of our travel was done by taxi thanks to Rodmon. Go Rodmon!
The locals were really friendly and we enjoyed a fab holiday. The only downside of the holiday was the mosquitos which ate us alive even though we applied various repelents.
We have just returned from a two week holiday to St. Vincent - where a party of 9 of us stayed at Spanish Pointe villa.
We made Spanish Pointe our base for the holiday, although we did spend a few days in other locations (including Bequia and the Buccament Bay resort).
The holiday was excellent, and the villa was exactly as described. The views from the villa really are stunning.
We visited quite a few beaches around the island, but preferred the beaches around Villa (just south of the airport) - particularly because there were some excellent restaurants there, which meant we could enjoy a rum punch or two at the end of the day, while the kids played on the beach or in the hotel plunge pools, and we watched some lovely sunsets.
If you want to get around the island then I would definitely recommend hiring a car. The owner provided me with some local car hire numbers and we were able to arrange hire for a reasonable rate. The only word of caution is that there are no dual carriageways - the roads are very windy, narrow in places, and there can be some quite large pot holes caused by the rains - so if you are of a nervous disposition, it would be better to rely on taxis.
Nevertheless, having a car meant we really could make the most of the island in terms of visiting waterfalls, climbing the volcano, Soufriere, visiting beaches, and just doing regular things like supermarket shopping. We also had relatives on the island, and the car allowed flexibility here too.
All in all, a great holiday, and Spanish Pointe villa was definitely ideal for the kind of holiday we had planned.
I stayed in this villa last year with a group of friends and had a 'wonderful' time. The first thing that hit me about St.Vincent was how 'Caribbean' and unspoilt it was.
The villa is beautiful. Set out perfectly with large lounge and chill out area's. To be honest our group spent a lot of our time sitting around the large mahogany table, chatting about things we'd done and seen, and eating extremely large local mangoes and banana's and drinking local beer and rum !
We also spent a lot of time sitting on the veranda that goes all along the back of the house overlooking that stunning view seen in the picture above.
The whole house is very tastefully decorated. Clean and as described by the owner. Owner also provided great assistance with our booking.
Town centre is good, old but interesting and everything you need is there.
Drove around the island and stopped at various beaches, visited fantastic waterfalls and went in (you have to do that !). Also visited the location of Pirates of The Caribbean.
Restaurants in Villa Nova, including the hotel restaurants, are all very nice. Great food at The Mariners Hotel too.
You can also take a trip over to the restaurant on Young Island which is a short ten minute boat trip across.
Also from St.Vincent you can go over to the island of Bequia for a day on the small ferry. Very quaint and worth the trip.
I would definately recommend this villa and St.Vincent.
