The photos dont do this fantastic secluded place to stay with breathtaking views justice.We stayed here for a long weekend and let me tell you we were not disapointed.The property was great for us with 4 adults 3 kids and a dog,the woodburner and the huge comfortable 1970s feel living room and dining area made for a very enjoyable stay in spite of the dubious weather.Clean spacious inviting property and we will be back for sure !

perfect for our active large family needs

“With 4 big boys, 2 dogs and a Wayfarer and a jet Ski - it is difficult to find a suitable holiday venue.

With beach and slipway launching on site and loads of space all were very well catered for. Three cars two boats with trailers - no problem. Even when the wind was strong the landing areas are so well sheltered it felt good safe and fun.

Reay declined my challenge for table tennis.”

One of the Best!

We had a fabulous Autumn break at Fiddler's Bay with our adult children. 7 of us stayed and there was plenty of room, although only 3 bedrooms (owners very flexible about setting up spare bed wherever suits so our eldest slept by the log fire!).

This has got to be one of the best holiday homes we have stayed in (and there have been many). It feels like a very loved home and not the usual soulless dwelling that self catering rentals can be. It is obviously used by the Mackay family and so is very well equipped and every need is catered for.

As this was November we were delighted with how well heated the bungalow is despite it's large size and were especially impressed that it has it's own hydroelectric supply so the electric meter hardly moved!

The huge sitting/dining room with it's beautiful 70's decor was a delight with view of water on 3 sides from the picture windows and surrounded by colourful deciduous trees with lots of birds to watch. Then there's the unobstructed view of Loch Tay itself right in front of the window with sight of Ben Glas and Ben Lawers (which obliged us with a picturesque dusting of snow). It was wonderful to watch the changing moods of the landscape in all weathers with frequent rainbows to top it off!

Killin is near enough to nip to by car for a pint of milk (it has a well stocked Co-op) but far enough for this to feel like a peaceful remote spot. The Sustrans cycle route along the south shore of Loch Tay passes by the garden gate and there is a slipway into the Loch if you want to travel by canoe.

There are a couple of long walks from the house (but you need to negotiate fences if you want to scramble uphill to the Rob Roy Way) and innumerable hiking opportunities a short drive away. In summer there are lots of outdoor activities organised locally (these stop at the end of October).

All in all this is the perfect getaway for people who love the great outdoors or for less mobile folk who might want somewhere beautiful to sit and watch the scenery and wildlife (also ideal for artists because of the huge north facing windows).

Jean and Reay are friendly, helpful hosts and we would love to come back one day soon.

Wunderful family holidays,

We spent 2 weeks with our three kids in the age of 5, 9 and 11, at this lovely place with splendid views over Loch Tay. The kids had fun swimming in the lake. We enjoyed the area around but also used it as a base to visit Glasgow, Edinbourgh and the North. We found the owners to be very friendly and our kids already said that they would like to come back to this place.

Loch Tay 456795

We were a family group of four senior Australians who stayed here for four days in September. The house has the most beautiful surroundings imaginable, on one side the Loch, on the other three sides woodlands with moss covered rocks, patches of heather and a small bay, it is absolutely wonderful. We could hear the water lapping from our bedrooms.We viewed the Loch in all its moods, like a mirror one day to rough and grey on another.

The house itself is very comfortable, large and spacious with everything supplied even special treats like a box of short breads to welcome us.

The owners were very thoughtful and readily attended to an unforeseen repair that was needed during our stay. We will remember this beautiful home, the happy times we had here either looking at the water through the large windows or sitting outside so close to the water, for the rest of our lives.

Thank-you Jean for all your information and patience in answering my questions prior to our rental, regarding the property's suitability for me as a person with mobility difficulties. The house was very suitable for a person with limited mobility.

Great property for everyone!

We stayed in August at the holiday home ‘Fiddlers Bay’ we had a great time.

Views were certainly as good as they look in the photos!

My mother was particular pleased with how accessible everything was as she finds walking awkward at best and the kids enjoyed beating grandad at snooker.

We were all surprised at the amount of things available to do in the surrounding area in good or bad weather!

Highland games were a highlight at Killin, as was the Blazing Fiddles concert at the town hall.

It was nice how welcome all the locals make you feel.

No doubts we will be in touch in the future,
