Mit schönem Fernblick zum Meer und einer guten Ausstattung bietet der Teil des Hauses ein prima Feriendomizil für zwei Erwachsene und zwei jüngere Kinder.

Mit vier Erwachsenen wirds eng.

Für den Auslauf mit Hund gibt es nur eine wenig befahrende Strasse, für mal eben Gassti gehen, nicht so üppig. Dafür Golfer und Golferinnen 50cm vom Garten entfernt.

Great location with everything you need

My parents and their Scottie dog spent a lovely Easter break in the barn in March 2016.

The location for the property is fantastic. It is at the end of a country lane with no through traffic, so it is quiet and rural with a great view out over the golf course and down towards the sea. Yet it is only about a 3minute drive from both Bude town centre and Stratton, or 5 minutes drive from Crooklets beach so it is still really well connected.

The property has everything you need for a comfortable stay so we would definitely recommend it and will happily consider coming back for future visits.

Fantastic location - Very comfortable

We stayed for a long winter break in January - absolutely everything you need for a great stay whatever the weather. Lovely views from the top of a hill overlooking Bude and the surrounding coast. We stayed in Mill. Very quiet and you're left to enjoy it by the wonderful Manageress and Owners. And incredible value for money. Literally a few minutes drive to either Kilkhampton or Bude for anything you might need.

I can't believe that anyone could possibly have any complaints, because I can highly recommend Ivy Leaf.

Ruhig gelegenes Quartier mit toller Ausssicht

Das Cottage ist ruhig gelegen mit toller Aussicht vom Schlafzimmer auf das Meer und die Landschaft. Das Cottage verfügt über alle wesentlichen Dinge bis auf wireless lan. Es ist gemütlich eingerichtet. In 5 - 10 Min. Entfernung findet sich ein sehr großer Supermarkt, wo man alles Notwendige bekommen kann. Bude ist ein sehr schöner Ort zum shoppen und speisen und hat außerdem eine schöne Bucht mit Strand und Schwimmbad.

Bewusst sein sollte man sich aber darüber, dass das Domizil mindestens 1200 m oberhalb der Hauptstraße liegt und die Auffahrt sehr steil ist - also Radtouren von dort zumindest mit einer großen Anstrengung enden. Abgesehen davon sollte man auf Radtouren in Cornwall aus Sicherheitsgründen lieber verzichten - selbst die in Radkarten eingezeichneten "Radwege" sind in der Regel ganz schmale und hoch mit Hecken zugewachsene Straßen - Lebensgefahr - außer dem Cameltrail bei Padstow.

Gem of a place!

My husband and I, with some friends, stayed for a week at Barn and Mill at the end of August. They are beautiful, well-appointed cottages nestled in a small complex of holiday cottages with all home comforts – good kitchen with washing machine, comfy beds and a great sized living room with tv. Both cottages have gardens with stunning views over the adjacent golf course and beyond to the sea. There are dedicated parking spaces for both cottages in the grounds and a shared tennis court.

The surrounding area is lovely with tons to do. Bude is just a 10-minute drive away with its restaurants, bars and coffee shops. Try a surfing lesson at Sandymouth Beach and a coffee (or cocktail!) at Life’s A Beach. Port Isaac, Tintagel and Padstow are all worth visiting too.

We will definitely be back next year. The cottages are reasonably priced and they really are little gems. Highly recommended.

Lovely cosy place, great value, but minor problems

The area and the cottage were lovely, we were very impressed with the setting - Anna has a beautiful property there! We had dinner in the garden, overlooking a golf course and with sea view behind it, which was great! The cottage was cosy, full of character and the surroundings very quiet.

There were a few minor things that didn't go well though: We were quite confused about the property's housekeeper to be honest. I was told to let the housekeeper know of our arrival which I we did. We rang once and no one picked up, which is fine. Then the second time we rang, I was sure she has rejected our phone call... The third time it was completely switched off so we left an answer phone message. We were unsure of what to do when we arrived as we hadn't spoken to anyone about this - we walked around the site for about 10 minutes, rang the housekeeper again (phone switched off) as we simply didn't know what to do - I presumed we will be told when confirming our time of arrival, but as she didn't pick up we didn't have any instructions. We then phoned Anna and she assured us we can just go in, the keys are inside - I can't just walk into a property without someone telling me it was ok!

We couldn't lock the back door which was quite worrying for us.

The first night we couldn't have a shower as the water wasn't working, but we didn't want to disturb Anna so late. After a long day of travelling and walking, all you need was a nice shower. The next morning she told us how to switch it on, but we would have appreciated instructions on the table, as the switch was nowhere near the bathroom.

There was also just half a toilet role and no spares which meant we ran out on the last day and we had to use tissues. The cottage was very clean, apart from the area under the sink where some of the pans were which was quite dirty. Cooking equipment could have been a bit better, but didn't bother us for just three days. Other than that the kitchen was very very modern!

Apart from these things, we really enjoyed our time though and enjoyed staying the cottage! As we now know how everything works, we would not hesitate to come back if we return to the area!

Thanks for your very honest comments about some of your grizzles too . I am really grateful that you have taken the time to drop us a line . I have worked with the housekeeper to remove any confusion about arrivals in the future and have updated the confirmation information to improve clarity. The back door has been fixed so thanks for the info. It is a new door and apparently was a problem with the fitting. Happily, this is such a safe area that security is not something that has ever troubled the site in all the years we have been there. I am terribly sorry about the water mains. It was certainly an oversight that it was not turned back on following some maintenance jobs so you should not have had to see to this. This is something guests have never had to address as it is normally only turned off during the winter months when there is a risk of freezing. These are self-catering cottages so it is usual that guests bring their own household provisions ( including loo roll) though there is usually a bit of washing up liquid, loo roll and toiletries for your initial comfort . Most importantly, you have so graciously said how you enjoyed the cottage in spite of these niggles and I look forward to hearing from you on your next visit to the area. All the best Anna
