Lovely Apartment Well Located for London Vacation

This apartment was a fantastic home base for my mother and I during our week-long London vacation. Communication with Terry leading up to the vacation was great, and Peter helpfully accommodated an early checkout, meeting us at the property to give us a thorough walk through. It's a lovely flat, and we were surprised to be supplied with tea, milk, and biscuits, as well as a toiletry pack with shampoo & other sundries. Both the bed and fold-out couch were very comfortable, the wifi was fast and efficient, there was plenty of hot water, and the kitchen had everything we needed for food prep. The location was perfect. A large Sainsbury's grocery store is located just a couple of blocks away, which we made frequent usage of, and the flat is located on a quiet street. Two Tube stops are well within walking distance, but there is also a bus stop just down the block from the Flat, which we used almost every day to quickly get into the tourist areas of London. We have nothing but good things to say about this location. It was the perfect place to stay to enjoy our London vacation.

Great accommodations! Would recommend!

This was our first experience with HomeAway (or any home rental service). Terry was very responsive during the booking process. Accommodated our timings. And Peter was very helpful during the greeting, with a nice tour of the home and detailed explanation of the surrounding area.

The property was great for the 2 of us. All we needed. Reliable internet service to help plan our days. Nice, cozy home to rest after a long day of sightseeing. Appreciated having the maps and oyster cards. Nice and close to the transportation options (bus, train, tube). And, the Esskay Car Service from Heathrow was a very good, affordable suggestion.

The neighborhood was clean and quiet. We ate lunches and dinners closer to downtown, but it was great to have the grocery store walking distance away, so we could get food and prepare our breakfasts before we headed out for the day.

Would definitely recommend the property to others. Great experience as 1st time travelers to London.

Delightful flat, would repeat this experience

First impressions of this flat and its owner were very encouraging, and I can happily say these perceptions continued throughout my stay at Terry’s London flat.

This ground floor flat is a quiet respite from the bustling activity of central London. Both the armchair and sofa are comfortable to watch TV from, or read a book (of which there are a few dozen on the shelves). The sofa bed has a double mattress, and is comfortable and easy to pull from/put back into the sofa.

The double bedroom is a sizable room with a high ceiling. You’ll find a comfy mattress with a plush duvet and pillows that encourages late sleeping and ample storage for clothes in a dresser and small closet. There’s an electric heater in the closet, if needed, and an ironing board and a vacuum are effectively stored under the bed.

The bathroom is a lovely blue green tiled affair with a full-sized shower/tub. Upon arriving at the flat, I was greeted with the lovely surprise of hotel sized toiletries above the sink. This is just another example of how perfectly Terry has prepared this flat for visitors.

The kitchen was, by far, my favorite room in the flat. The pictures in the ad do not do it justice; it is far more spacious than in the photos. The kitchen is full of appliances that (as a former London dweller) are quite luxurious. There’s an oven and hob, clothes washer (no dryer), full-sized fridge, and a dishwasher. Terry has thoughtfully put salt and pepper shakers and olive oil near the oven, and washing tablets under the sink. The cabinets are stocked with all manner of kitchen things. If it’s not there, you probably don’t need it.

The flat is a short 10-minute walk to Vauxhall Station, where you can take the Victoria line into central London. Bus stops for the 2 and 88 lines are a short walk away. The surrounding neighborhood is full of restaurants. I can only vouch for the Portugal Restaurant (great food and atmosphere), as I cooked most nights. There is a giant Sainsbury’s market, a 6-minute walk from the flat on Wandsworth Road, which is great for a through shopping trip. If you’re tired after a long day of sightseeing, there is also a Sainsbury’s Local grocery right at the top of the stairs leaving Vauxhall station.

From the first contact to last goodbyes, Terry and Peter were consummate and considerate hosts. The location is very central and a quiet retreat in a lively neighborhood. I would rent this property again, and I recommend you should too.

Home away from home

Every time we travel to a city we use to rent apartments so we grab a bit more of the feeling of living in that city. One of our criteria is to find authentic apartments conveniently located in nice neighborhoods. London’s attractions are quite wide spread around the city so anyway you end up walking long distances or using public transportation which in London is just great, no matter where you want to go. Terry’s apartment offered us even more and our family of 3 was very happy there for one week in April.

The apartment is located in Vauxhall, 10 mins walk to tube station and 2 minutes to bus station so more than enough to get anywhere. Although 10 minutes to tube station might seem long for some, there is a nice walk especially in a sunny morning and the garden-park close by worth a 5 mins coffee break on the way instead of having coffee home.

The apartment is located on the ground floor of a typical London building, with a cute old style decorated living room facing the street. The bedroom is small but quiet, nice and comfortable. The kitchen is huge for an apartment in London, nicely furnished and with everything you need if you fancy cooking in there. The top for me was the small garden opening from kitchen which we used every morning for coffee and evening for a glass of wine before going to sleep.

We appreciated a lot Terry’s prompt answering before travelling there. We knew London quite well so we did not have to bother him during our stay but I am convinced that he would have been more than helpful. Peter, who welcomed us in the apartment, is a wonderful typical British to chat with. Thank you Peter for being so nice!

So, having the feeling of going “home” after a long touristic day was just wonderful and I would recommend staying there for business trips or holiday, especially if you want to see how it feels living in London.

Perfect stay in London

We (two adults and two children) spent 7 days in this beautiful, well equiped and very comfortable apartment in London. We loved the bright kitchen and the terrace!

We arrived earlier than expected and within minutes after calling the owner, we were able to enter the apartment.

We came to London with our own car and parking in front of the house was no problem, we were able to buy some parking tickets (5 pound each day) from the owner!

A bus station is around the corner and Sainsbury`s is just minutes away.

We had a wonderful time in London and a perfect stay in this apartement!

Amazing house near Central London

First off, let me say that the owner of this place is a really sweet guy. He was really prompt with any questions that I had with the house or trip in general. He also had a person to show me around the house even though I reached there around midnight.

The house was very clean; wonderfully arranged for guests with all amenities and utilities.

This place is 30 seconds away from bus stops (buses 2 / 88) that will take you right into central London. Vauxhall train station is probably 8 - 10 min. walk away from this house. If you are into walking, this house is not far away from a lot of attractions. This house was so quiet that I felt that there were no neighbors around as well. I found quite a lot of stores and restaurants around as well near this place. I stayed there in March 2017 and can't be happier having chosen this place. Definitely, I would choose this house again when I come back to London again.
