der perfekte Ort um zur Ruhe zu kommen

Wir, ein Paar mit 2 Mädels, 16 und 14 Jahre alt haben unseren heurigen Urlaub hier verbracht. Es war genau der Urlaub den wir uns gewünscht haben - 2 Wochen Zeit mit der Familie zu verbringen und dem stressigen Alltag für ein paar Tage den Rücken kehren.

Die Villa ist sehr gut ausgestattet, es fehlt an nichts. Wir haben sehr viel selbst gekocht und gegrillt; beim Supermarkt Eroski in Competa ist fast alles erhältlich. Größere Einkäufe haben wir in Velez-Malaga (el Ingenio) getätigt - die Shopping-Mall hat sich als wahres Einkaufsparadies für unsere Girls herausgestellt. Der Besitzer Benno sowie sein Manager Wez sind sehr hilfsbereit. Von den für Nachbarn uneinsehbaren Terrassen bietet sich ein traumhafter Blick in die umliegenden Hügel und Berge.

Wir habens einfach genossen. Danke Benno!

Tranquil mountain retreat

We absolutely loved this villa, enjoying amazing unspoilt views across the mountains. We spotted an Eagle, Hoopoes, Swallows, Skylarks and Swallowtail butterflies. The mountain flowers were stunning and it was like being fast forwarded into summer, with perfect weather in March, though it was too early in the season for the pool to be made ready for use. The villa is really well equipped and very comfortable. We appreciated the wood burner in the evenings.

The owner was very helpful as were the local managers.

The local people were friendly and helpful too. We really liked Competa, for shopping and lunch. We'd advise getting fresh food supplies in before arrival, though the garage shop near Competa had a good range of essentials and the best bread. Chiki Beach restaurant, down at the nearest beach, offered excellent vegetarian/organic options which were delicious. There is fabulous mountain biking terrain from the doorstep. It was the perfect antidote to grey, wintry skies and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend a stay there.

Perfect Location to Get Away From It All

Both previous reviews sum this holiday up for us. We have just returned from a 2 Week stay here and having staying in the area last year, we couldn't wait to get back. We travelled with a 10 and 12 year old and the villa is equipped with everything you need for the perfect chilled out holiday. We ate out at the steak restaurant in Archez, which was good value and one of the best steaks I've ever had. For buying food, the Eroski supermarket in Competa has most things at a decent price, or for a bigger shop, Lidl in Algarobbo was a little further to go for a big shop. I can't thank Benno the owner enough for his help with everything and Wes for his advice and local knowledge for places to see. We would certainly book to go ourselves again and not hesitate in recommending to friends and family. We love it here!!

A little piece of heaven!

Casa Aguila was the best holiday we have ever had. It is the first time we have felt at home whilst on holiday. We found the property to be clean and well maintained and the rooms generous sizes and well furnished. We agree with everything the previous reviewer said, although in an August heatwave with 50% humidity it was hot. The air-con sorted that out though.

We travelled with our 3 children 8,6 & 3. We found the pool to be a great depth for us (around 1.5m) as it is more than adequate to swim but a little safer with small children.

The property managers Wes and Linda were friendly and helpful coming twice a week to clean the pool. Wes also met us at the village near the villa to do the last bit of the journey with us. We were very grateful for this as it is remote and the track up is a little nerve-wracking the first time (steep, narrow & no tarmac). However it was worth it as when you are there it is almost as if there is no-one else on Earth.

We would advise to book when you eat out to get the best tables and service, we got the impression that the locals don't like you turning up without a reservation. We did not find any children's menus at the places we ate which did mean that eating out cost more and was at times a little tricky. The kitchen at the villa was so well equipped that that didn't matter, we ate at home a lot. The large BBQ on the patio helped with that!

The views surrounding the villa are stunning, and the peace and tranquility hard to beat. Its ideal for anyone wanting to escape it all!

Truly Magnificent!!

We just got back about 2 weeks ago and miss it sooo badly!!

we had a wonderful holiday in this delightfully positioned villa. The views down, round, through and over the mountains from the huges terraces are stunning!!

Fantastic pool with strong and comfortable loungers, a bar with a fridge, sockets, lights up at night time... The sun shone all through the day and set in front of the villa at 8.30 'ish, which was great for September...... wow this must be how rock stars and actors holiday!!

We visited the local towns of Canillas and Competa and just loved them. White washed walls, narrow streets without a car in sight, reminded me a bit of Lindos in Rhodes... superb.

We stocked up on the groceries we needed locally and the prices were very cheap, so no need for long journeys to hypermarkets!

The villa itself was cool and well equipped and everything you needed was provided, it was so refreshing to have a little bit of most things still in the cupboards and we just replaced whatever we used....... so much better than the holiday company rental villas which are absolutely empty on arrival.

Would we rebook ..............no question, absolutely YES............unless this review makes it unavailable..lol...oh well, such nice people they deserve it!
