Wir haben 2 wunderschöne Wochen in diesem Cottage verbracht. Das Haus ist perfekt ausgestattet und in Natura noch schöner als auf den Fotos. Ein toller Ausgangspunkt nicht nur für Wanderungen auf dem Pembrokeshire Coast Path , sondern auch für Gartenbesichtigungen. Die Dachse haben uns jeden Abend besucht und ebenso konnten wir viele Vögel beobachten. Die Vermieter Huw und Feroza sind sympathisch und hilfsbereit, begrüßen ihre Mieter mit Welsh Cakes und Milch.Vielen Dank dafür!

Trewrach cottage

I saw this Trewrach cottage on HomeAway and knew it ticked all the boxes for me and seemed ideal. Looking the typical block stoned, built to last, Welsh cottage; it’s finished to a very high standard. A large wide patio along the buildings length leads onto an end patio, giving access to the French doors of the extension. Inside the quality continues. Cottage owners Huw and Feroza have finished it to an equally high spec. High end appliances making everything as comfortable as a second home from home. Its fully fitted, well thought out kitchen provides ample dining space and makes the most of the cottage’s annexe. Stepping into the carpeted lounge, the high apex ceiling complete with Velux window, adds to the feel good factor with its ‘A’ frame beams crowning a room with a large inglenook fireplace, complete with stand alone log burner and ancient wall oven. The room is complimented with two large leather sofas, coffee table, and book cabinets. A heavy front door leads out to the main patio and an open view of the hills, greenery and in summer; I’d imagine, a wall of sunshine.

A hallway takes you to the rear of the building and encompasses a twin bedroom with wardrobes and storage space, followed by the spacious double bedroom. Opposite the twin room is a toilet and vanity unit and between the double bedroom and toilet is a bathroom again fitted in striking richness with the quality of finish evident. With a warm utility room complete with a washer and the heating system controls and Sky box. It’s all very well sought out. A few yards away from the cottage is a converted cow shed that has become a games room with table tennis, pool and table football to compete with those closest to you.

The animal and wild life is a joy. Colourful song birds visit the bird table almost at arm’s reach and badgers feed with an assurance of trust, their noses at the patio doors and yours on the other side. You’d have to go to extreme lengths to get anywhere close to this experience with the badgers and still wouldn’t manage it. It’s priceless!

Moving away from the cottage area the beach is less than 15 minutes walk down the lane or, via the woodland stream route, which is more challenging. Once there though you’ll have coastal paths, rock pools and stretches of open sand plus the bonus of no masses of people.

Please do go and enjoy the experience of Trewrach Cottage. It’s a sumptuous picture, framed with the wilder untouched beauty of Welsh nature at its best.

Beautiful Wales

It was our first stay in Pembrokshire / Wales and it was lovely! The weather was better then expected (before we saw the news with flooding all over britain). We both got a sunburn! The cottage is totally renovated and located in a lonely area on Trewach Farm. It is right in the middle of Pembrokeshire near Fishguard. You have excellent hiking possibilities taking the Coast Path with nice views and birdwatching is a great todo. We visited St. Davis Cathedral, Picton Castle, Fishguard, Dinas Cross and some mountains nearby with wild horses. A very nice to have of the cottage is the excellent working floor heating, so we expect also cosy stays possible in the winter season. Huw and Feroza a perfect hosts and take care of their guests. Huw organized some fresh lobster and Feroza cooked them for us, it was a great dinner we had! Thanks to the Francis and we can highly recommend this cottage for a stay in Wales/Pembrokshire! Beautiful re-done barn

We find it a perfectly re-done old barn (Kevin McCloud would have loved this project) with all the old features but quite unbrittish; it was very tidy !!!, clean !!!, good maintaining !!! (bathroom and kitchen) and had a very comfortable double bed, but without the fuzzy things some Brittish (women) decorate their second homes... A lovely surprise for good money and a cottage with all the necessary comfort needed; seated in a stunning scenery and ideal for exploring the Pembroke area. Ideal for us as a couple in their fifties, but suitable for families as well. Do not expect a lively beach if you go down the cliff but it will do in summer for cooling off! Feroza and Huw are ever so helpful if necessary and we loved seeing the birds and badgers around the house. In the evening we gathered the couches around the fire and enjoyed the heat of the logs. We loved this holiday in early spring with all the flowering in the area. Do not forget to visit and walk around St. David's and Tenby and walk from Newport to the top of the Presili Hills. In the evening a walk of 10 minutes will lead you from the cottage to the cliffs, from where you can watch the sunsets. We would love to come back in another season f.i. the fall to watch the colours.

Absolutely Fantastic!! only one downside...

We had a wonderful holiday. The booking process was easy - and the owners couldn't do enough to help you.

The cottage is absolutely amazing, newly refurbished and has everything you need for a romantic break or a family get away.

Modern and cosy with a log fire, satellite tv (if you need it) and all the mod cons including a dishwasher.

The only downside for us, was that the sofa's were very uncomfortable and upright. We did quite a bit of walking while there, and at the end of the day we really wanted to put our feet up with a glass of something cold and relax. Sadly we couldn't do that - unless we went to bed.

Only a small point, but an important one for us - and did make us think twice about booking for our spring break. (If there were comfy sofa's we'd be back like a shot!).

Escape from the City

Our family of 4 (2 adults, 2 children 12 & 14) stayed in this lovely cottage while on a European holiday. I have to say that this was one of the highlights of our holiday. The cottage is perfect, secluded, well equipped, warm and the hosts were perfect - there if we needed them and not there when we didnt. Our children loved the cottage with the games room and the lack of internet connection proved to be a huge bonus giving us time to enjoy being a family. We went on many walks and drives and loved walking down to the beach and doing some of the coastal path walk. This cottage is set away from the village but is walking distance for the young at heart and the local pub was a great chance to talk to the locals who made us feel welcome. We found a farm shop which supplied us with some great quality food and cooking in the lovely kitchen made it even more enjoyable. The bath was a welcome sight at the end of the day after our long drives and walks. I would highly recommend this to anyone from all parts of the world, young and old as the cottage has everything you could want to keep kids of all ages amused. We enjoyed watching squirrels and badgers and seeing the birds at the feeder. We had pleasant weather but I think even if it had been cold and wet, you would still enjoy sitting in the cottage watching the weather. The setting is perfect as you cannot see any other houses and really feel as though you are away from things with the lovely forest in front of the cottage but yet you are only a short drive to the shops. I cannot speak highly enough of this cottage and the hosts and look forward to returning in the future for a longer period.
