We had a great vaction at Sweet Paw Paw

We’re back from holidays and what a fun time we had. The house is very spacious, clean and secure; and what you’ve accomplished in making a covered patio is extraordinary. We spent evenings there, enjoying rum punch and conversation. The breeze was most pleasant, and of course the visiting birds were delightful during breakfast. The beach is 5 minutes away, and a walk to the grocery store is about 15 mins. Buses run frequently nearby and we were able to take in all of the sights we wanted everywhere on the Island by travelling with the locals on the "party" buses (music, closeness and speed). A lovely place that I plan to return to. Thank you!

Extremely disappointed!

I have literally just returned with my family from a 16 night stay at Sweet Paw Paw. I cannot express how disappointed I am in the way we were treated by the housekeeper and the owners.

Having contacted the housekeeper Shelley from the airport on our arrival as directed by her we were still left standing outside the property in the dark for approximately 30 minutes. When Shelley did turn up she was rude and obnoxious towards myself and my family.

The property itself is beautiful and in a good location but this is all I can say positive about it.

We had a number of belongings stolen from us including Jewellery, perfume and money at the end of the first week after the cleaner Diana had been in as she negligently left all of the windows open and left the house insecure.

The housekeeper Shelley was contacted in regards to the missing items but her response was "what do you want me to do"?. She offered no support or advice about what we should do.

The owner of the property Paul and was also very unhelpful when I contacted him by email also offering no advice or support although he admitted his cleaner had been negligent by leaving all the windows open yet he refused to accept responsibility or any form of liability, even though it was made very clear to us on our arrival that we should not leave any of the windows open in the property when we were not there. However Diana the cleaner did exactly this even though we asked her to secure the property when she left, which she assured us she would do.

We took it upon ourselves to report the theft to the police and when they requested the address of the housekeeper Shelley so that they could speak to her she refused to provide it to me.

I cannot describe how this situation impacted on our holiday. The safe provided at the property was broken and unable to be used.

I am very, very disappointed in our treatment and experience from the housekeeper, cleaner and property owners. As a seasoned traveller I have NEVER come across such dismissive and unfriendly people before and would never expect such treatment especially when I am paying a substantial sum to rent accommodation.

Resposta do proprietário: I will address the issues raised in the order stated. The guest was unable to accept the explanation that the property agent (not the housekeeper) had been caught in a traffic jam caused by an accident. Anyone who knows Barbados roads will appreciate that there are few options when these things happen. By repeatedly berating my agent for events that were beyond her control, our guest set the tone for the interaction. The much more serious issue raised concerns the accusation of theft made against my housekeeper. She has worked for me for more than 7 years in a position of trust, including handling payment of bills and other monies. Knowing both her and her family, I completely reject any accusations of theft or negligence on her part. The guest's complaint about windows being open applies to the upper story only. All the windows that are accessible without a ladder are secured with burglar bars. The reason we ask guests to be sure to keep them closed is that rain will blow in and get everything, including the beds, wet. Since there was no likelihood of rain, the windows were left open so the floors could dry completely before the guests returned to the house. Again, instead of listening to information provided the guest has chosen to make accusations without merit. I recently became aware that the electronic lockbox for guest use was not working. It will be replaced next month when I am in Barbados.

The perfect place to stay in paradise

The house is great, cozy, extremely clean, perfectly maintained and very well equipped. In addition It's location is optimal. The owner provided us excellent assistance during the entire period being always friendly and helpful. We definitely recommend this place if you are looking for a quiet place to stay in Barbados, close to wonderful beaches, attractions and different restaurants.

Fantastic House!

Myself and two friends rented this house and had an incredible week stay. The location is ideal and there's a beach in walking distance and taking the bus into town is very easy.

Paul was pleasant and prompt in his correspondences and the Property Manager was lovely. The house is quite large and we really enjoyed having the indoor/outdoor patio space to host dinners.

The only thing is there is no A/C, however there was a good cross-breeze with all the windows and fans open.

I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.

What a beautiful home and a lovely holiday oasis.

I could not have asked for more; mere five minutes from Maxwell Beach and yet a feeling of being part of the community rather than a tourist setting. The home and gardens were well maintained ahd I would highly recommend this property to anyone. The home is very spacious, rooms quite lovely and the showers, a treat!

It was an easy trek to the grocery store and taxis and buses were always available when I did not feel like walking. The location was excellent....only a brief bus ride to St. Lawrence Gap, Rockley Beach, Bridgetown and beyond.

There were a host of delightful restaurants, some within easy walking distance and the property manager was alway available should there be any questions.

Cannot wait to go back!
