Perfect Place for a Wonderful Holiday

The location of March House cannot fail to wow you with spectacular views of the mountains and surrounding countryside. The garden is a paradise for wildlife with red squirrels visiting and a selections of birds from coal tits to woodpeckers hanging out on the feeders providing constant entertainment.

The house is ideal for a big group with a sociable open plan layout downstairs and comfortable bedrooms upstairs. We had a lively Burns Supper during our stay with plenty of room in the dining room to do this in style. The kitchen is extremely well equipped.

Although we missed out on skiing because of lack of snow the area has so many other activities that no-one was put out. A 6 hour hike from the door and back stoked up a good appetite for a hearty evening meal.

We hope to be able to visit again and enjoy March House. Thank you, Caroline.

Cosy yet spacious home in a beautiful location

Myself and a group of friends decided to spend New Year in the heart of the highlands. Caroline's home was perfect for us. It is well-maintained, clean, comfortable and spacious. The property was easy to find and there are lots of facilities near by. Our plans to go skiing were ruined due to lack of snow, but we managed to substitute that with plenty other activities. We went out for a meal to The Rowan Tree which I also highly recommend!

Great weekend all round. Thank you Caroline.

Fantastic location in the forest!

We had an excellent week in this warm and well-appointed lodge in the forest. Perfect location to step out of the door and straight onto forest tracks for walking and biking and lovely to have wildlife right up to the door. Not far to Aviemore and lots of outdoor activities including easy access up to the high peaks of the Cairngorms, as well as loch-side walks only a few minutes away too. Everything was perfectly clean, and well provided for. Worked really well for two families with a total of 5 teenagers (even enough internet to go round!!). Thanks very much for a fantastic week in beautiful surroundings away from the madding crowds.

Beautiful house in stunning location

Beautiful well equipped and maintained house ideal for a large family get together. The views from the conservatory are amazing and we spent a lot of time around the large dining table. The wood burner stove makes the other living area very cosy.

The owner Caroline could not have been more helpful even welcoming us with some freshly made shortbread.

We were a mixed family group and there were walks suitable for everyone. We also all enjoyed watching the gliders at the local gliding club.

We would definitely recommend March house and hope to go back ourselves.

March House is a lovely place for the whole family

the house is set in a lovely quiet part of Feshiebridge, it is close to all the local attractions and walks nearby, we were a party of 13 and we all enjoyed the house and the garden, the children especially liked getting the logs for the fire with the wheelbarrow. what a wonderful week. the house had everything we could need and more, and Caroline was very welcoming and even supplied us with homemade shortbread and some locally foraged mushrooms. Thanks from the Shetland gang!!

Great property in a great location

A group of 8 friends stayed here for 4 nights in May for our annual "lads" walking holiday.

The property was ideal for our needs with 4 en-suite bedrooms - a mix of doubles and twins - and a further 2 bedrooms that shared a bathroom. There's a beautiful conservatory (with massive dining table), separate lounge with log fire and an exceptionally well equipped kitchen. Everything was spotlessly clean and well maintained.

We used March House (officially in Feshiebridge) as a base to be near Aviemore for a mix of low and high level walks with a couple of Munros thrown in. After a day in the hills, having our own place to sit, chat and relax (and have a few drinks) of an evening was ideal.

The weather was kind to us and the walk to the nearest pub (Loch Insh Watersports Centre) built up a nice thirst on the couple of days we chose to go there. Ideally, at the end of a long day, the walk could have been shorter - but it's probably unrealistic to expect the centre to relocate just to accommodate us! We did eat there on one evening and everyone commented on the friendly staff - not to mention the good food and beer.

Of course, with Aviemore nearby there are lots of options to eat out and we had an exceptionally good Indian meal on one evening and then used a local taxi service to return. That day also contained a tour of Cairngorm Brewery which is worth adding to the itinerary for those with an interest in beer (or who just want a less challenging day out).

There are far too many attractions in and around Aviemore to list. However, it's probably worth a reminder that the option exists to walk up to the Cairngorm massif from Coire Cas car park and then use the funicular to return down. As the years advance, walking downhill seems to become more challenging than going up!

Finally, a special word to the property owner Caroline. She lives next door and couldn't have been friendlier and more helpful without being in any way obtrusive.

Overall, I would highly recommend March House as a base for the area. It's a big property so ideal for a (very) large family or groups of friends. We loved it and I suspect our annual trip will see us return in the future.
