Lovely house, big garden - in great location

The owner Gerry was very helpful and the house was clean and fully equipped. Major towns of Dinan, St Malo and Dinard half an hour away and Mont St Michel maybe 45 mins. The garden has a small pool and a lawn for boules. The village has the usual small shops like a bakery but also a well stocked mini supermarket. We found the neighbours very friendly and helpful. We have 4 teenage boys who loved cycling around on our fold-up bikes and in particular using the free community football stadium pitch in the village. We really enjoyed our stay and will hopefully stay again.

trés bonne prestation

nous avons passé un week end de 4 jours trés agréable , les prestation ont été à la hauteur de nos attentes . Le cadre est magnifique , calme et nous avons eu un coup de coeur pour la maison qui a un charme indéniable . La situation géographique est interesante , on a accès à beaucoup de site en peu de temps.

Nous conseillons cette location sans hésitation.

Wonderful week at twin Oaks

We have just returned from a week's family holiday at Twin Oaks. My partner and I were joined by my mother, our four-year-old daughter and my two late teenage sons. The property was easy to find from the instructions and we were easily able to park our two cars at the side of the house.

Upon entering, we all gasped at the beautiful ground floor with its marvellous fireplace, oak beamed lounge and modern kitchen/dining room. It was much larger than the pictures suggest. The kitchen is very well equipped and it was easy to cook meals for the family. The lounge is nicely furnished and the TV picks up all the British channels. A wi-fi connection would have been a bonus, but a week without internet distractions did allow my younger son to venture out of the house!

Outside, the large garden is very pleasant, with lots of chairs and a big table. The pool is small but a handy addition in hot weather. It might be advisable to put on some insect repellant around the pool as my children all received some bites.

The first floor has two very large, fully ensuite double bedrooms both nicely furnished. The twin bedrooms on the second floor are much smaller but are fine for kids. We all felt that the mattresses on the beds were rather soft for our liking.

The showers and bath were absolutely fine but the toilets had rather a weak flush and sometimes required a couple of flushes for..ahem... serious business!

The village is very quiet but has a good basic supermarket neighbouring a boucherie, poissonerie and an excellent bakery. Petrol is available by the supermarket and there are recycling facilities too. There are 3 much larger hypermarkets 15 mins away on the roads into Dinan, at least one of which is open Sunday mornings.

Dinan is a truly beautiful small medieval city. The shops are excellent and there are lots of bars and restaurants to choose from. The walk down the hill to the old port is really atmospheric. St Malo, Dinard and Mont St Michel are all less than an hour's drive and are must-see places. The large city of Rennes is well worth a visit and the wonderful coast harbours fabulous scenery, lovely Breton towns and fantastic seafood.

Gerry, the owner, was very easy to communicate with and always answered emailed queries very promptly. The property was clean and well-maintained and the instructions in the house were clear. I would thoroughly recommend Twin Oaks as a superb base for a family holiday in a wonderful part of France

Great Brittany!

Two families shared this fully refurbished stone house in April 2011. Gerry was very accommodating with arrival and departure logistics and provided good instructions for reaching the house. Inside, there was plenty of room for four adults and two children (and two dogs). The kitchen was modern, with all the needed equipment, including a large refrigerator and freezer and dining room table the easily seated everyone. Beamed ceilings are very inviting. The bedrooms are large with en suite bathrooms for both sets of parents. A comfortable temperature was easy to maintain in the cooler evenings with room-specific efficient/modern radiators. The dual system DVD player even played our American DVDs! The fenced backyard included tables and chairs and a bbq which we made good use of. There was off street parking for two cars, and although there are houses nearby, the street is extremely quiet.

The village where the house is located is quiet, but offers a small supermarket, butcher, and friendly bakery, along with a gas station, which you'll need for all the easy day trips throughout the region. We loved a trip through the back roads outside the village up to Cap Frehel/Fort La Latte. The region is pretty large, so leave sufficient time for visits to Dinan, Mont St Michel, Saint Malo, and Cancale and the nearby coast and hiking trails.

Were were a bit surprised that there was no clothes dryer in the home, just a drying rack. We also hope that internet access is one day made available. Aside from those minor issues, the house was great - the perfect base for exploring the beautiful region.

Changeover day is Saturday. Arrivals after 4.00 P.M. Departure before 10.00 A.M.
As clients you agree not to act in any way, which would cause disturbance to those resident in neighbouring properties.

• Deposit of 25% is payable on booking, Balance, payable 8 weeks prior to start of rental. A refundable damage deposit of €375.00, is payable with rental balance. This will be cashed two weeks prior to holiday to allow for clearance and will be returned, less any stoppages, 10 days following departure.
In your own interest, and so as not to delay the refund of the deposit, the cottage will be checked with you before your departure. This may alert you to damages, breakages or failure to leave the cottage clean and in good condition, which is required by you. Small breakages are best replaced or settled on the spot.

As we only have a few hours to prepare the house for the next client, you are asked to leave the house and garden, including pool, in a clean condition. This means in particular cleaning the bathrooms, the kitchen (especially the cooker, fridge, and utensils),folding the bedding, cleaning the floors. Your co-operation in this matter will be much appreciated. If you are unable to do this, or would prefer not to, a final cleaning charge of €150 will be deducted from your damage deposit.

You are strongly recommended to arrange a comprehensive travel insurance policy (including cancellation cover) and to have full cover for the party's personal belongings, public liability etc, since these are not covered by the owners insurance.
