Lovely cabin; well maintained.
The cabin and grounds are very pretty and well kept. The creek beside the cabin is beautiful. I recommend getting the access codes for the gate, cabin, riverfront property, and boat house prior to arriving since cell service is non-existent there. The cabin was very clean and Trudy was very kind. There are plenty of fish in the lake!
We loved it so much. We have talked about going back as soon as possible and eventually buying a place of our own there. The cottage was so cozy and there were so many things to explore. We enjoyed fishing and our dog enjoyed swimming in Queens lake and playing in the creek right beside the house. We did not want to leave and can't wait to go back. Thanks for a wonderful vacation.
A little GEM of a place!
My husband and I were looking for a quiet little getaway in the mountains of western North Carolina and we found it here! This cottage is simple and serene, and provided the peace and quiet we were craving! We fished and kayaked on beautiful Queens lake. We drove the curvy backroads on our motorcycle. We walked and hiked around the private roads above our cabin. Our closest neighbors were the horses in the corral above us, and the little family of wood ducks nesting in the creek just down from the driveway. This was the vacation destination we wanted and needed! Trudy, the property manager, was wonderful to work with! We will definitely be back!
Thank you. Live having folks who love nature.
Very nice cabin
Pros: Nice small community with several options to explore, small pond, walking trails, nearby small lake, gated. Cabin was clean, has a pretty creek right next to the cabin. Basic supplies. Trudy gave prompt response with a problem. Beautiful area of NC.
Cons: Don't even think about making this drive if you get car sick or you don't like driving on very winding and narrow roads (as you approach the cabin). The mattresses are hard, way too hard for a comfortable night sleep for us. Both on the main bed and the trundle bed. No close places to eat, so be sure to plan to cook some meals and bring the food with you.
We have replaced mattress. Thank you for your review.
Beautiful setting, charming cabin. Furniture a little worn. We've been married almost 40 years and were looking for a peaceful retreat. We noticed a mouse the first night and contacted the manager. The issue wasn't successfully addressed, and we finally realized it was infested with rats. Stay away from this one.
in response, our rental is not infested with rats. Central Exterminators inspected the property thoroughly after we received complaints. No rats were found. We have a quaint cabin secluded in the forest with deer, raccoons, bear and all sort of wildlife.
Cozy Cabin in a peaceful community
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! So many trails and water views to enjoy within walking distance. Stock up on groceries & you’ll be set! Great trip for your friendly canine as well.
