Great property layout and location

The property had a great layout and a great location. Very convenient for Newlyn and Penzance which are only a short stroll away. The view across the harbour was also spectacular! The layout of the property was very convenient especially for our party of two couples and one baby. The double driveway was a great benefit too.

Whilst we were there the tumble dryer stopped working but the landlord sent a workman round the next day to fix it, so top marks for that!

The only real downside was the bathroom which got very steamed up even with the window open and was generally a little bit on the tired side. Also the carpet in the living room could do with being hoovered more thoroughly as it had quite a lot of hairs which was very obvious with a baby crawling round picking them up.

Overall we had an amazing trip and were very happy with our stay.

Resposta do proprietário: Thanks for the feedback which is always useful. The bathroom fan had been adjusted by someone so that it wasn't switching on unless it was dark. ie all showers during the day may not have activated the fan {but I thought I had corrected that before your vacation?] As you correctly perceived the house has been constantly let for some time now and is due a major refurbishment especially the bath room which has suffered from customers allowing water to spill on the floor to the side of the bath. As I am sure you will appreciate it is very difficult to organise repairs during the busy season when there is often only a few hours to sort out any problems. The property has been properly hovered every week , so I am perplexed at the hair /floor issue. That said I do ask all holidaymakers to contact me asap for anything , however trivial, as soon as they find fault. I live nearby and would happily re hoover the lounge. As it is I now have no opportunity to rectify the issues you raise. Again thank you for taking the time to review and for giving me the opportunity to explain things, also thank you for leaving the property so exceptionally clean

Lovely house in a great location.

Wonderful house with a panoramic view of the bay below and the fishing village of Newlyn which is nestled at the the foot of the hill.

Spotlessly clean and tidy. Good lay-out. Comfortable living room with large bay-like windows and a commanding view. Three good size bedrooms ( 2 x double; 1 x 2 singles). Fully fitted bathroom on the landing and separate toilet downstairs. Fully equipped kitchen with all the mod-cons. Inviting front garden with drive-way/parking. Small but pleasant back garden with furniture. Easy no fuss check-in and check-out. Ideal property for us.

Five minute walk into the centre of Newlyn and 10-15 minutes to Penzance. A 20 minute stroll will take you to the picturesque harbour village of Mousehole. 45-60 minutes in the opposite direction along the costal pathway will bring you to the spectacular St. Michael's Mount. Newlyn has a fantastic choice of fishmongers with catch of the day from the neighbouring fishing fleet, and 3 great restaurants/bars all serving the freshest of seafood. In descending order of price - Tolcarne Inn; Sky Mackerel; the Red Lion. Got to try the crab soup in the latter!

Penzance is a lively, unpretentious town with a smattering of decent cafes, good quality souvenir shops, a number of fine galleries, 3 large supermarkets, easy parking and uncluttered roads.

If you want to avoid the tourist hordes in high season and are looking for a home base with easy access to all the regional tourist attractions Newlyn/Penzance is the place to stay.

And last but not least thank you to Barry our host for his hospitality and making our stay comfortable and uncomplicated. Highly recommended.

Ein ansprechendes Ferienhaus, tolle Lage!

Der zweiwöchige Aufenthalt (Juli 2017) in diesem Ferienhaus hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Herrliche Aussichten über die Mount's Bay inklusive St Michael's Mount und eine sehr ruhige Lage (Sackgassen-Endlage am Wendehammer). Das Haus ist ideal für 4-6 Personen, Ausstattung und Aufteilung der Zimmer perfekt. Terasse mit herrlichem Meerblick und kleiner Palmengarten hinter dem Haus, in dem sich auch ein Grill befindet. Das Haus könnte insgesamt besser gepflegt werden, d.h. hier und da entsteht der Eindruck von Nachlässigkeit (was für uns jedoch kein großes Problem darstellte).

Schöne Strände (wie z.B. in St Ives) sucht man in Newlyn leider vergebens, was für uns jedoch auch völlig unproblematisch war, da wie nicht nach Cornwall gefahren sind, um einen Badeurlaub zu machen😉�.

Zusammenfassend kann ich dieses Haus nur weiterempfehlen!

Wunderbares Ferienhaus, top Aussicht auf Hafen und Bucht, familienfreundlich mit viel Platz

Das Ferienhaus liegt in einem ruhigen Quartier ca. 10 min zu Fuss vom Zentrum von Newlyn / ca. 3 min von der Bushaltestelle. Wir waren zu 6st hier und haben von hier Ausflüge per offenem Doppelstöckerbus nach Landsend und zu der wunderbaren Küste bei Porthcurno gemacht. Ideale Basis um die Steilküsten und Sandstrände Cornwalls zu erkunden.

Das Haus ist voll eingerichtet und Verbrauchsmittel wie WC- Papier, Badetücher, Waschmittel, Geschirrspühlmittel, etc. sind genügend vorhanden.
