The Sea Turtle - Sunset Beach Resort

Directly overlooking the Gulf of Mexico at the North end of Siesta, this 3 bedroom 2 bath unit sleeps 8, and is literally steps to the beach and only a block to Siesta Village with shops, restaurants, and bars. Come sit under the Sea Grape trees with a glass of wine and enjoy our world renowned sunsets by the fire pit or in your own private seating area. Our favorite is a reading our favorite book in the hammocks with the wonderful gulf breeze.

Great stay

Had a great stay the location alone is worth every penny! Only issue we had was broken lint collector in the dryer and the ice machine didn’t work, but overall 10/10!!

Great location, not perfect for us

Our 81 year old mother stayed in this unit for a month. It wasn't great for her but it might be ok for some. Pros: 1. Good Location: A convenient and desirable location, offering easy access to the town, beautiful ocean and sunset views and you walk right onto the beach. 2. Responsive Property Manager: addressed inquiries and concerns promptly. Cons: 1. Misleading Brightness in Photos: The images were considerably brighter than the actual home, potentially creating unrealistic expectations for guests. 2. Uneven Floor Levels: The primary bedroom's attached bathroom had a significant step down, which may pose a challenge for some guests. 3. Cleanliness Concerns:There was no vacuum and the property manager was not able to help us arrange a weekly cleaning service. 4. Limited Stock and Storage:The bedrooms lacked sufficient closet space and dresser drawers. 5. Poorly Lit Entry:The entry is located in the back of the property lacked proper lighting at night, potentially posing safety concerns for guests arriving after dark. 6. Subpar TV Picture Quality: impacting the overall entertainment experience. 7. Uncomfortable Sofa:The backless sofa was uncomfortable to sit in, affecting the overall comfort of the living space. In summary, while the property had its merits, including a good location and a responsive property manager, several notable issues such as dim lighting, cleanliness concerns, and inadequate amenities need attention. Potential guests should keep this in mind.

Siesta Key

To be honest, our first reaction was that the property was tired, but we loved it by day 2. You will get to know your neighbors in the additional rental units - ours were very fun and friendly. The bedrooms are tiny so you'll be walking over your suitcases. The best part was the patios with seating areas and BBQ - and the location is PRIME. Walking distance to everything and the beach is heavenly. I gave it a 3 star because of the FEES. Cleaning fees (it's not a mansion! and they ask you to start the linen laundry in the checkout book - which is fine - I washed all the sheets and towels before we left anyway), resort fees (no idea what that paid for), vrbo fees, fees, and fees and fees were almost 2x the per night charge. The fees were just more than justification - otherwise, it is a great family beach, location, and we would probably return.

Nice location

We loved the location of this house—-steps from the beach and area restaurants!! We had the whole place to ourselves which was nice. It’s not perfectly clear from the VRBO description but this is multi-unit rental property. Shared patios, entry areas. A few things that need attention: Cleanliness upon checking in was not great—-dirty dish towels left in the sink. Attention to detail not there. Bathrooms could use more cleaning. The TV needs replacing——picture was absolutely awful and it had a vertical line through the picture. The outdoor patio furniture is in desperate need of cushion replacement. The cushions were dirty and had been chewed up by something. A cleaning of the patio areas is also needed. Another item that was sooooo uncomfortable for us was the daybeds instead of a couch or sofa or chairs in the living room. Hard to sit in—-and the covers were not clean. Needs improvement and updating. But I will say this in closing——the location is second to none!!!!
