We have just come back from a fantastic two week stay at this apartment. The initial contact was very easy and friendly, via e mail. When we eventually got to the apartment someone was waiting outside for us, making everything very simple! The apartment is very clean and well equipped, plenty of storage space and in a brilliant position. Though it is on the first floor above the bars, noise at night was non existent and as the bedroom is at the rear, no noise (apart from new years eve, which is to be expected) meant a good nights sleep. There are several restaurants in close proximity, we liked the Playa Mont restaurant next to the Zebra crossing excellent fish, excellent steak and very, very good service. La Palma is a stunning Island with some beautiful walking, so quiet and peaceful. This was our second visit to the island, the first time we stayed at Los Cancanjos, but we much preferred Tazacorte, the weather really is sunnier! All in all, we had a fantastic holiday and cannot wait to go back. We would definitely stay in this apartment again and cannot recommend it more highly.
We spend a wonderful week in this lovely apartment, right at the heart of the delightful seaside village of Puerto de Tazacorte.
These apartments are perfectly located, with sea views and directly overlooking the central lido area of the town, literally within a minutes walk of the lovely, black sandy beach. The apartment block comprises 3 floors (5 apts per floor) above shops on the ground level. There's a supermarket and Pharmacy and cafe/bar at street level below the apts, and also a couple of other cafe/bars and an ice cream parlour, as well as a gift shop in the street.
The apartment was easy to find (Puerto de Tazacorte is a very small place) with free on street parking close by. Our apartment was located on the first floor and benefited from a private balcony. The apartment was very clean, well equipped and great value for money.
The street below was often busy (it was christmas week after all !) and due to the fact that the bedroom was located at the front of the building, directly above the bar / cafe, we did experience some noise from below (just mostly men talking loudly - as they do !) , however as we're both relatively light sleepers, earplugs were necessary.
The roof top sun terrace is a great place to sunbathe if you don't fancy the beach - we had it all to ourselves most times when we went up there, it was so peaceful.
Puerto de Tazacorte, for such a tiny place, has around 7 - 8 restaurants which during our stay (Christmas week) were always busy and bustling. We ate at 5 different places during our stay, the fresh fish at the 'Trebol' was particularly good. Most concentrate primarily on fish dishes, however meat dishes are available and there's a very good Italian restaurant facing the Harbour entrance called Il Tremonto, which does excellent pastas and pizzas - well worth trying.
The supermarket was well stocked so there was no need to travel far afield to do the basic shopping, however if you need a bank / cash machine you’ll need to travel to Tazacorte for the nearest as there’s none in Puerto de T. Theres a large supermarket there too
La Palma is a stunning island - so very different to the more touristy islands of the Canaries. The scenery is breathtaking, and the walking is fantastic. Puerto de Tazacorte makes a great base for a laid back and relaxed holiday
Thank you Maria - we hope to be back soon !!

My wife and I had our first kid free holiday for years, and am so pleased to have chosen this appartment in this location.
The appartment was great, though my wife spent more time on the sun loungers on the roof terace.. It is right in the centre of the bars and restaraunts, so everything can be done on foot.. Dining was also much cheaper than the uk.
I would suggest taking a island guide book with you from uk, as there does not seem to be much in english. That said, you are unlikly to bump into the uk holiday herd, as this seems to be a place for the spanish
We cant wait to book a return

I've stayed at Apartamentos Luz y Mar on two occasions and each has been wonderful. The view of the beach from the balcony, easy access to wonderful restaurants and the bus line make this a destination you can enjoy for weeks on end.
We have a young daughter of 14 months of age and could easily fashion a small bed for her using the couch in the apartment.
I'm 6'2" and the bed was a little short but typical of the bedding in the Canaries. The kitchen served our needs well. The shower in the bathroom requires a hand-held operation but it is easy to use, we had enough hot water, and the Canaries don't have great water pressure in general.
If you expect a luxury hotel experience, go to a luxury hotel. If you want to enjoy life in a wonderful community in a comfortable apartment with a great view of it all, this is about as good as it gets.
Tazacorte is a very nice place on La Palma with a little beach, some restaurants and shops.
The apartement is central with balcony to the beach as you see it on the pictures. It was clean an had all we needed for one week on the island. There is no luxury but everything was functional and in good condition.
Important to say is, that the contact with the owner by email was very quick and trustworthy. Also the payment transfer was very easy.
For us, the apartement was a good choice.
