The property is what it states a budget getaway. It's situated in a fabulous position on the beach.

Just come back from a two week stay Feb/Mar. The cottage is excellently positioned for all local ammenities. The cottage has all the daily essentials you need for self catering holiday by the coast. We found some fabulous places to eat & drink. Can recommend Rompeolas, El Bodegon, San Muigel chiringuito, Chiki beach resturant , Tizos. The beautiful hill top village of Frilliana near Nerja is a must see.

Albi gave us a warm welcoming & the milk & drinks provided in the fridge was a lovely touch from Albi. However, I think if we had stayed in the cottage during warmer months our experience at the cottage would have been very different, which was a real shame . The weather was the worst they had for 6 mths. The beaches up & down the coast were flooded with debris from the mountains , Which the local council were on straight away to clear. Did a great job.

Overall, unfortunately it wasn't our perfect romantic winter sun holiday accommodation for that time of the year, we found the cottage was very cold, damp & smelled damp. There was bad mold on the bathroom ceiling & even more on the ceiling at the top of the spiral stairs which leads to a door to the roof terrace. Its obviously been like that a while. Everything in the mornings was wet. The heater on the aircon unit was a god send in the cold evenings ,But didnt takeaway the damp. Just made it warmer before bed for the cold night ahead.

In our opinion a property shouldn't be let out in winter unless properly prepared & free of damp & mold . Even a budget property should be habitable all year round.

It would have been nice for someone In the prior reviews on this site to have mentioned ,so could have been prepared for the dustbin men coming every morn between 3 & 5 am to the large dustbins opposite the cottage, which awakened us every morn.

On conclusion a sweet ideally, well set up

property to be used in the warmer months

Perfect

This had to be my most relaxing holiday ever. The house had everything we needed and more would love to return again. There are lovely places to eat near by and if you go to the marina there is a path that you can walk along the beach all the way to the next village. 4 kilometers ample little bars on the way. thank you so much for letting us stay

Een compleet ingerichte cottage op het strand

Deze Fisherman cottage is prachtig gelegen in een rustiger gedeelte van de Costa del Sol. Het huisje is niet groot, maar wel zeer compleet ingericht. Het grootste pluspunt is het dakterras, gelegen op het noorden, dus nooit te warm om te zitten. Meer dan genoeg winkels en restaurants in de buurt. De loopafstand tot het strand is niet meer dan 10 meter. De ontvangst was uitstekend.

Private and cosy

The cottage is in a quieter part of the area, away from the hustle and bustle of Torre del Mar yet close enough for an enjoyable walk, with local amenities: bars, shops, supermarkets just right. The cottage itself is well stocked, and the welcome drinks in the fridge were indeed very welcome!! We received a warm welcome by Abi who was at the property waiting for us ready to answer any questions we had. All the property facilities are as described, I cannot think of a single thing that is needed on holiday that was not provided. Our week was spent walking in the area which was fab; returning to the cottage, getting a drink and sitting on the beach, often with the beach to ourselves, was divine. Having breakfast on the terrace was lovely, although we did not have the time to take advantage of the sun loungers up there. Just 30 yards down on the beach is a lovely beach bar with welcoming hosts, good food which you can enjoy sat with your feet in the sand and your mind in heaven!

We are back again this April for our second visit!

This place is just gorgeous

This place is just so quirky, it is compact and bijou but has everything you need and more. It is in a fabulous location(right on the beach) and is near the shops and restaurants. The balcony is lovely and gives some privacy, although the spiral staircase is not for the feint hearted. Ali is just brilliant, nothing is too much trouble and he is just so helpful and informative. The bed is comfy with plenty of storage with a huge wardrobe and bedside cabinets. It is on the main road and can get a bit noisy early hours of the morning but it did not bother us. The local restaurants are authentic Spanish and have the most gorgeous and amazing food and a beer is very cheap. It is a 20min walk to Torres de Mar along the beach or the promenade, there are plenty of shops and restaurants there plus tourist info. You can hire bikes in Caleta for the day, its all very laid back and cheap. We rode to Torrox along a very safe cycle track , its well worth it to see a bit more of the coast. We would definitely book here again. We have inspired our friends to go to Caleta de Velez , I hope this review inspires more people to go because it is just lovely.

Lovely little cottage right on the beach

Very well equipped little cottage which was very clean on arrival.

The cottage has a good sized kitchen with a washing machine, a small but comfortable living area, a good size bathroom with a great walk-in shower and a large bedroom with a comfortable bed. There are lots of towels, bedding, cleaning products provided in the cottage. There is also a large roof terrace which is accessed via a steep spiral staircase, but it's worth the climb. From the terrace you have a great view of the beach and it's ideal day or night to have a refreshment and people watch. There are also a couple of very nice sun loungers on which I managed to snooze away several hours over our visit.

We were met at the cottage by Mr & Mrs Abi who made sure all was spotless for our arrival and the cava, beers, water, milk, juice and biscuits provided were very much appreciated. They were also a great source of information about the surrounding area.

The only small suggestion I would make is can you provide a lower down mirror. I'm not particularly vain but to brush my hair I had to stand on the second step of the staircase to see in the living room mirror and at 5' 6" I had no chance in the bathroom mirror.

The cottage is well placed for all amenities with lots of shops (Supermarket Louise - turn left out the front door & it's on the first street on your left has a great selection of cold meats and cheese as well as most things you might need), bars and restaurants ( El Bodegon - again turn left out of the front door and walk towards the harbour, it's just past the supermarket - do amazing food).

On the main road ( next street up) you can get an Alsa bus if you want to go exploring, if you want to go to Granada you can get the bus to Nerja and then the connection to Granada leaves at 10am.

We had a great holiday and would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone.
