The owners could have a real gem here. The apartment is large and for the most part very comfortable. The only issue we faced was the availability of hot water. The system needed continual re-setting - not a big problem if the system was located in house but it was outside in the courtyard. The location is great and the town of Sant'Agata is very nice. Close to Sorrento and all the Amalfi Coast has to offer. Would recommend this to anyone - but first check on the hot water situation.
We have to agree with the positive reviews on this place. It is a very clean, spacious spot with a very large terrace, in a great little village, near enough to all the top tourist sites in the Naples/Sorrento areas for easy day trips. The village has a few restaurants (Mimi's is very good - great pizza, seafood and exceptionally friendly service), bakeries etc. and is a relaxed, super friendly place to start/finish your days. We are very glad to have picked St. Agata over Sorrento. Jerry and Anna are lovely people and it was a nice touch that they left a bottle of wine and some local pastries to greet us. My only regret is that we didn't have more time (and hotter weather) to hang out on the terrace. My only caution is "don't ask for directions at the Hotel Due Golfi" - they'll just get you lost! When you enter town from the road to Sorrento or Positano, just go straight to the T junction and turn right (it looks like a small street but opens up). The laneway to the apartment (or the restaurant Jerry might arrange to meet you at) is 100 m away.
Firstly the owners Anna and Jerry are a really lovely genuine couple. The accommodation is spacious and spotlessly clean with a lovely terrace with beautiful views overlooking Capri. It's within walking distance to all the amenities you could need. St Agata is an ideal base as it's relatively easy to get to all the sights but has plenty to offer itself and provides a welcome break from all the hustle and bustle elsewhere. We are a family of four with two teenage daughters. We felt very safe there and found the local people very helpful and friendly. The girls happily walked into the centre of St Agata on their own for an ice cream. They loved the pizzas at Mimi's. We would have no hesitation in staying again, and hope to do so one day.
Spacious, well equipped apartment withing easy reach of all you would wish to see and do in this beautiful area. Anna was a welcoming and kind host and the place was impeccably clean and well presented. It is quietly situated at the end of a private drive with space to park, and just a few moments walk away are all the local shops you will need. We are a family of five with three teenagers and we fitted in well with one sleeping in the large sofa bed in the lounge although there were three beds in the second bedroom if they had chosen that instead. We ate out in Sorrento although there are restaurants in the town to try too, but we enjoyed wandering around the tiny streets of Sorrento after dark and it is only a short drive away. We visited all the normal things in the area but would also recommend taking the cable car to the top of Mount Faito from Castelamara de Stabia railway station for amazing views and also the Solfatara Volcano on the other side of Naples.
Wonderful hospitality from our kind, friendly and helpful host. A lovely home to relax in, and a great base to explore the peninsula and Amalfi Coast.
Sorrento is just a few minutes drive away. Beach at Marina del Cantone is recommended - stunning drive!
Easy drive (30 - 40 mins) to Pompei, Mt Vesuvius etc.
Everything you need is in the village of Sant'agata, a stroll from the house (at the end of the driveway basically). We recommend the panetteria, gelateria, pasticceria...
The house is really well appointed and lovely. We have a family of 5 and had a comfortable stay with one child sleeping in the lounge.
