Located in an Edwardian manse, now converted into three suites, the Salish Sea View offers spectacular views over the City and sea toward the Olympic Mountains of Washington State. This is a truly unusual suite set on two levels and occupying the entire second and third floor of the non-smoking building. (Note: the main entrance hall is essentially one flight of stairs from the ground. Other suites are long term in this building, Salish Sea View is available for 90+ days in accord with new regulations coming into effect in May 2024.
Up the stairs from the main hall, the main level of the suite is comprised of a living room, dining room, fully equipped kitchen, large study/office (printer available fr your toner), an "artists perch" and bathroom (tub and shower) with laundry alcove. French doors open from the living room onto a large, south-facing deck. A mix of antique and contemporary furnishings add comfort when relaxing in front of the electric fireplace, or flat screen TV. Basic cable and free WiFi are provided. Upstairs are two roomy bedrooms, one queen, one full/double, with ample storage for short or longer stays. The view from each bedroom is simply wonderful.
Your hosts are resident just up the street, easily reached for tips on things to do or any questions that may arise. Garden lovers: ask for closer look at their gardens seen from the bedroom stair landing and main floor "artist's perch".
As of May 2024, government regulations require stays of 90+ days (91+ for a lesser tax regime). We regret that we cannot accept shorter stays from that date forward.
Departing guests who leave the suite as close to the condition provided as possible get 5 stars for "cleaning" in the post-stay reviews. The online system means that a "not very clean" rating will affect your overall rating on the website/platform.
Please focus on general cleaning: vacuuming, cleaning kitchen & bathroom, organizing recycling (& taking that out if your departure is on a recycle day).
We'll strip beds & do laundry. Let us know of any issues that require attention before next arrivals. If unsure about HOW to clean something, please don't hesitate to ask—we'll help.
Thx!
