Simply Perfect

Wonderful villa in a fabulous location with access to all major roads. The villa is well mainitained, very clean with a good sized pool and sun beds so no need to get up at dawn to reserve! The kitchen is fully equiped and has the added bonus of air conditioning for those very hot summer nights. The terrace is at the back of the property so very private and ideal for lazy days and barbecues. The pool is at the side of the property and the views across the lake and mountains are stunning especially whilst standing under the external shower. There are great bars, restaurants and shops down in the valley which takes about five minutes in the car to get to. We recommend breakfast at Tiffanys as the owners and their staff make you feel very welcome. Torre del Mar is about a forty minute drive but well worth a visit. Very pleasant beach front where you can sip a glass of wine and watch the world pass you by. They have a street market on a Thursday morning with some good bargains. The strawberries are to die for! The villa is ideally situated as there are numerous restaurants within the vacinity so you can pick and choose where and what you want to eat. There is no need to go to the same place every day unless you want to of course. We stayed in a couple of nights and enjoyed a few drinks purchased from the local supermarket. We've been here twice and are considering returning again to celebrate New Year but will definately be back next year. The owner is very nice and he and his wife have lots of knowledge about the area and nothing is a bother to them. I love this wonderful home from home and would recommend at least ten days as there is so much to do and see. Our first visit was intended to be a chill out holiday and that is exactly what you can have in this peaceful wonderful place. However once you visit one place you want to see more and the small villages in the mountains are so beautiful we had a few days walking about looking at the breath taking views. Don't forget to watch out for the local shepherd, you'll hear the sheeps bells before you spot him and his flock but one word of warning, if he stops to say hello...stay down wind! I hope this review helps you decide to take the plunge! I am sure you won't regret it.

Perfect return

We stopped here 8 years ago and loved it so much we booked it again to take our young children for break in September.

It was a perfect base for us to explore some more of the area.

The property has had a new extension since last time so a great place to dine in doors on the cooler evenings after the little ones were finally in bed!

The pool is super for kids as we could easily play with two non swimmers safely.

I recommend a drive to the coast as you will love Nerja and Torre de mar as a great places to eat and people watch.

My top tip would be go the BBQ bar in the village as I was put of by it look of the place but trust me the food is awesome and at a great price to make your euros go that bit further.

Can't fault it! Booking again!

très déçu de notre séjour catastrophique

Nous avons l'habitude de louer en Andalousie des Villas mais là nous avons passé nos pires vacances depuis 10 ans en Espagne.

D'abord la piscine: Très petite et pas assez profonde.Le propriétaire nous annonce 1.80M de profondeur, en fait elle fait au maximum 1.45M. Avec le vent dans les montagnes et le corps à moitié hors de l'eau, aucun plaisir pour la baignade.Sauter dans la piscine peut s'avérer dangereux.

Ensuite Panne de lave Linge et toilette du haut le 1er Jour.

Nous apprenons que le débit très faible de l'eau est imposé par la mairie! impossible de prendre une vrai douche correctement. Si quelqu'un va au toilette et tire la chasse d'eau, l'eau ne coule plus de la douche. Si vous faites le linge c'est pareil!

J'étais prêt a quitter la maison dés le 2ème jour mais je n'ai rien trouver de disponible. De plus le propriétaire n'était pas prêt a m'arranger en cas de départ. Il m'a clairement dit que je n'aurai aucun remboursement!! J'ai toutes les photos à l'appui de ce que j'avance. malgré cela il n'a fait aucun geste...Je déconseille fortement.

Resposta do proprietário: It is fair to say, the pool is large at 8 mts x 4 mts and child friendly to a maximum 1.65 mts deep. I am disappointed to learn of any problems our guests encounter during their stay at our villa All."call outs " to our management team are responded to and solved on the same day and on most occasions within 1 to 2 hours of the calls. The problems to a shower , toilet flush and washing machine was due to temporary reduced water pressure to the property, The Spanish Authorities unfortunately do at times reduce water pressure for periods during extremely hot weather and using showers , toilets and washing machine etc.,all at same time will cause function problems Our main priority is for our guests satisfaction during their stay and we endeavour to respond quickly and solve problems but it is fair to say that a temporary street mains water pressure reduction by Spanish Authorities is unfortunately out of our control

Fantastic Place

We loved this place! It's on a small enough development to enjoy a quiet, relaxing holiday yet within easy distance of local amenities, bars and restaurants. The casa itself is immaculate and has all the necessaries to feel like 'home'. With ceiling fans in every room the casa stayed cool throughout the day, and the air conditioning, especially in the bedrooms, kept us cool on the hotter nights. The view from the balcony across the lake as the sun sets beyond the mountains is just stunning, and a perfect way to enjoy a glass of wine at the end of the day.

Vinuela village is lovely, and has a number of good bars and a fine restaurant, La Vina, well worth a visit, as is La Cantueso in Periana.

All in all a great holiday, we would love to return if we can.

Wonderful Hoilday spot

Returned last week from Casa Del Lago after spending a wonderful week with our 3 boys aged 12, 9 and 6. The villa was exactly as described and was well equipped. Loads of space for our family and the surrounding area was beautiful. Lots to explore and only half an hour from the beach too. Highly recommend this villa and would consider returning ourselves.

Beautiful, peaceful villa

Just spent a wonderful week at Casa Vista al Lago. The property is exactly as described, and gave us complete peace and relaxation.

The property was spotless, and everything worked.

Booking everything was completely painless, and the owners were very helpful throughout.

The surrounding countryside is breathtaking.

Will definitely consider returning.
