Ideal Location

The apartment is in an excellent location and is good value for money - it is right at a lovely beach! All along the beach front are plenty of restaurants and cafes serving delicious food and specialising in fried fish. The area is typically Spanish and not touristy at all. The supermarket is within easy walking distance. The apartment is as specified and has a lovely little terrace to sit and have meals or just to sit and look out over the beach and sea. There is a roof terrace but I found this disappointing. However, beach chairs and a parasol are provided so this was not really an issue. The apartment is also within easy reach of the bus stop to Malaga which is only a 15 minutes journey. The buses are excellent and run regularly even throughout the night. Buses to other areas throughout the region run from Malaga. Malaga has plenty of interesting museums (we loved the car and fashion museum!) as well as a great selection of shops, cafes, ice cream parlours, restaurants and a park. There are loads of attractions to visit around Malaga province including a botanical garden, water parks, amusement park (open till 1.30 am), butterfly garden, caves and even a Buddhist temple. So there is plenty to keep different generations within a family happy! And if you love clothes and shoe shopping - go to nearby Torremolinos!

I would definitely recommend this apartment to those who do not wish to be in the typical tourist resorts nearby and knowing a small amount of Spanish helped get us by! My only concern is that I had to pay the remaining amount due for the apartment to the owner in cash and I would have preferred to have paid this directly into their bank account.

All 3 of us very much enjoyed our holiday (with my daughter aged 21 and son aged 12).

Seaside Gem

We had an excellent holiday in El Palo. The location of this villa is idyllic with only a two minute walk to the beach & several good restaurants. The resort is very Spanish which suited our needs perfectly..The house was clean & tidy with lovely views and in July the air conditioning was a major was a pleasure to be able to go for early morning walks along the promenade and we would thoroughly recommend the walk into Malaga itself. Getting into the historic centre in Malaga in the evening was very easy due to an excellent bus service which runs well into the small hours. Connections with airport are also very good .Barbara was lovely & very attentive and gave us really good customer service throughout. I would definitely recommend this property and plan to return

A lovely apartment for chilling out.

A great apartment for just relaxing and enjoying Spanish Mediterranean culture. We cycled and walked to Rincon de la Victoria, a little town along the coast, and enjoyed walking into Malaga city which was about 70 minutes walk. We enjoyed trying out our poor Spanish in all the shops in the town of El Palo. Thanks you Carmen for your home and Barbara for organising it all.

Lively and quiet, sea and city

We had a lovely week at the beginning of March staying in the apartment of Carmen. The sun was giving a lot of warmth already so we spent a lot of time on the flat roof, reading. The house is on the beach front, and at night you can fall asleep listening to the waves on the beach. I really liked the fact that although the city is near (both Malaga City and El Palo), and it is easy to reach supermarkets and restaurants, the house is in a quieter zone, and you can distance yourself easily on the roof from the buzz of the street. Highly recommended for those looking for the 'real' ;--) Spain: this is a part of the coast/city that is not crowded by tourists, but lived in by the Spaniards themselves.

The apartment is lovely, and very clean. The owners take good care of it. Thank you Isabel (daughter of Carmen) for your recommendations on places to eat out. Our flight left late on Saturday, and as there were no other tenants we were welcome to stay longer, which was very kind (thank you Barbara, for offering to ask). And many thanks Barbara for taking the time to send my cardigan, which I left behind!!! That was above and beyond the call of duty.

In short, we felft as if we stayed in a friends house. Welcome, and at home. Almost on the beach, in Spain! :--)

Sun, Sea and authentic Spain experience!

We had a really lovely week in the apartment of Carmen in El Palo district of Malaga :--) The weather was great (beginning of March) and the apartment (with the roof terrace) combines the 'buzz' of the lively neighborhood with the relaxation and tranquility offered by a location on the very outskirts of Malaga, next to the sea (bring your flip-flops!). Supermarkets are near, also bakeries and restaurants. Isabel (Carmen's daughter, Spanish speaker) and Barbara (native English speaker) were great hosts, and did their very best to help us in every way. Thank you again for your hospitality! :--)
