We had a great time at this apartment! It was very clean, well-decorated and we loved the location! Having never been to the area, we wondered if staying in argentiere over Chamonix centre would be a disadvantage, but we discovered that we much preferred it and would definitely choose this commune in the future. It is much smaller and calmer (especially in August) than Chamonix, but with still all the services you would need (we even had to see a doctor while there who was just across the street). And there were still enough people around to make it feel lively and fun. There was a grocery store, souvenir shops, restaurants, pharmacies, etc. We hiked daily, and found that almost all of our hikes started near or further up the road from argentiere, we never even needed to go to Chamonix. That said, it is a short ten minute drive if you do want to go, or you can catch a bus. Very simple. The house is well-organized and equipped. We really appreciated the handy little guide about the house and surrounding areas as well as all the maps and books for planning activities. Beds were comfortable and amenities all worked well. The views from the whole apartment (even the bedroom!) of Mont Blanc were amazing! There is a playground on the grounds, which was great for our kids, and the balcony had high enough walls that we had no concerns with our 2 and 4 year old being out there.
The only thing that was unexpected was the size of the place. Within the rooms, you have plenty of space and it is very well layed out, but for some reason this complex has these odd 1.5 story units, so my husband, who is 6'2 was only a few inches from the ceiling. And the stairs up to the top floor and hallway to the bathroom upstairs were extremely tight. The bathroom was very, very small, although the shower had ample space. If you were obese or quite overweight (or claustrophobic), you would not fit in this house. But we got used to all this after a day and just found it rather amusing. Also, beware that there is no freezer. Not a huge deal for a week, but maybe for longer stays.
Overall, a wonderful location and host and I would highly recommend this place!

La propietaria muy servicial y atenta. No he tenido ningún problema (únicamente eché en falta una tostadora para tostar el pan del desayuno).
Han sido unas vacaciones completas, hemos podido hacer todo lo que queríamos, escalar, trekking, relax...

Lovely, cosy apartment. Great view. Near to ski lift, and ski bus, just couple of 100 m. Wel equiped, everything you need was there. Clean. Good beds. Good shower. Wel heated. Ski storage is sufficient, however if you have lots of stuff (our sons like to bring ski's, snowboard, snowblades, tourski's in the same holiday) it is to small. We storaged the surplus of equipment in our car, carpark in front of the apartment, so no problem.
Village is on walking distance, supermarket, bakery, ATM and resatuarants nearby.
So: very good and price worthy apartment for a nice ski holliday.
Apartment is located in Grand Roc residence, location is perfect because all you need you can reach in max 5min walk - train station, bus station, supermarket, climbing shops, restaurants, cable car etc.
Apartment is very lovely and cozy, since first minute we walked in we felt like home there. The size of apartment is perfect for 4 adults or family with 2-3 children.
You will find everything you need in apartment starting from kitchen equipment (and believe me we cooked every evening), till books, table games, extra blankets etc.
View from balcony to Mont Blanc is magnificent, it motivated us to wake up every morning, pack our thing and go climbing or trekking, we just loved this view.
I can say that this was one of the best booking experiences ever, because of the apartment owner Rachel. We started to search apartment in Chamonix area in June, I would say it was quite challenging process because most of owners answers slowly or not at all. Rachel answered quickly, and was super helpful through all booking process.
I would recommend this apartment to everyone because it is well located, nice, clean, cozy, and has helpful owners who are interested to make your stay there as perfect as possible. We will definitely return there!
Property was exactly as described . Location was excellent, very close to cable car and food shops and restaurants. It was snug and warm and bed was very comfortable. Shower was great. View of the mountains was stunning . The owner , Rachel was very helpful and organised linen rental for us. Good information was provided about local services. We had a hire car but only used it once as trains , buses and cable cars were so close. Parking was not a problem. The walking is great , there are lots of local low level walks and the high level walking is outstandingly good.
Cozy little apartment with everything you need to have a great ski vacation. All you need to bring is yourself and an adventurous attitude.
