A Fantastic Family Retreat

My husband, six year old son and I were fortunate enough to stay in this beautiful Royal Villa in October and to say we were impressed would be an understatement. From the moment we arrived at the villa we felt amazingly relaxed and were welcomed by the lovely housekeeper, Harriet. What first strikes you is the huge living area on the first floor with stunning views out to the sea. The furniture is extremely luxurious, the kitchen is fully equipped with everything you might ever need and the large balcony was the perfect setting for our evening meals.

On the ground floor there is a large Queen-size bedroom with an equally large ensuite shower room. However, the best was yet to come. On the lower level of the villa there were a further two bedrooms, again both ensuite, one lovely twin room and a huge Master Bedroom with it's own lounge area. We certainly had far more space than we needed!

An additional benefit of this villa was that it has it's own pool. Not many of our neighbours' villas did have these and whilst it was only a short golf-buggy ride to one of the lovely communal pools we enjoyed relaxing "at home" in the late afternoons after a hot day trip somewhere on the island.

Another regular feature of our stay included the absolutely stunning Mullins Beach, which is the privately owned beach only a 5 minute ride away. The restaurant there comes highly recommended for lunch as does a boat trip out to swim with the turtles, fantastic. We also visited Holetown for it's traditional chattel-style shops and lovely restaurants. The renowned Cliff Restaurant is also well worth an evening visit.

All in all we spent an amazing week on a truly beautiful island and this luxurious villa was simply the icing on the cake. We hope to stay there again soon and would highly recommend this Royal Villa to anyone looking for the ultimate in rest and relaxation.

Relaxing Get Away

I had a wonderful time from the moment I arrived. Harriet is very welcoming and I felt like I was visiting with a friend. The property is beautiful and you can tell that a lot of time and attention to detail went into the villa. The villa has it's own pool and I enjoyed taking breakfast outdoors on the porch overlooking the pool area. I liked going to the gym, having sundowners at the Golf Club (bonus points for monkey sitings), spending time at Mullins Beach and shopping in Hole Town. I have already recommended this villa to my friends.

Ultimate Vacation - Royal Villa 10

Royal Villa 10 was more than we expected. This was our first visit back to Barbados in 20 years, now with our kids (16,14,13,12) and my mother who is 81. We arrived to a warm welcome from Ms. Harriet and departed with lasting memories and hugs with the thought that we couldn't have chosen a more inviting location.

The villa was maticulously maintained and decorated right out of a magazine with ample space for everyone. The pool was a major asset and perfect for us all to relax at different times of the day. The unbeleivable view was spectacular and it ended the day with amazing sunsets over the water. The peace and tranquility of this location was irreplacable.

The villa was perfect for families and would be a wonderful place in the future when the kids are older for us or with friends.

The buggy allowed us to move around the property with ease. The clubhouse was a delightful place to visit in the late afternoon for cocktails. Looking over the golf course, you can also see the ocean. Nearby, was the quaint rum shack for happy hour. The fitness facility was state of the art and was set in a tranquill, well ventilated, clean facilty. Much enjoyed.

We used the private beach (Mullins) on a regular basis. The staff was accomodating and friendly, as well as the food and drinks were great. The area was easy to swim/wade in with very little coral and also child friendly. We strolled down the beach to Gibbs beach which was a very peaceful and relaxing setting. Our early morning walks were on other west coast beaches that we found exquisite and charming.

The convenience of Holetown (5 minutes away) made it easy to pick up groceries, wine, etc. The Weston and Paynes bay fish markets were close by for fresh fish daily (arrive by 8am). Returning home, to find a well equiped kitchen in a refreshing open concept space. It made it easy to gourmet cook and enjoy the family at the same time.

Our 10 days were wonderful and we have more to uncover on our next visit. The elegant accomodation, the charming restaurants, the amazing golf course, the prestigious beaches, and the simplicity of the country side makes this location outstanding. There is something for everyone.

Royal Villa #10, "reflects the interplay between oceanviews and scenic landscape". We can not wait to return and would reccomend it to family, friends and colleagues.

Wonderful Westmorland

Royal Villa 10 has been refurbished and is even better than ever. You have the comfort of 3 large bedrooms, superb lounge, kitchen and dining facilities as well as your own private pool. Views from the balcony at sunset are truly spectacular. Harriet the maid ensures that all your washing and cleaning is done on a daily basis and you go home with a suitcase full of clean laundry. Fantastic! Sharon at West Coast Villas is on hand in case you need anything else.

I used the excellent gym facilities every day and there are two pools plus a bar area there for you to use. Royal Villa 10 has its own golf buggy so you can get around the Westmoreland resort easily. I am not a golfer but a trip round the golf course an hour or so before dusk is well worth it as the monkeys all appear from the woods and are a great treat for kids to see. The golf course itself has to be one of the best in the world.

A visit to the Indulgence Spa is a must. It is situated opposite Mullins Beach which is for the private use of Westmoreland residents and guests. The beach there is perfect there is a variety of water sports and boat trips on offer including swimming with turtles which is amazing.

I had a fabulous time and have already recommended Royal Villa 10 to friends.
