Set over a detached garage in a gorgeous private home on 1/3 acre in Newport Beach, this 'carriage house' studio has a private entrance off the driveway and looks out on a beautiful pool and garden.

Just 10 minutes toward the ocean from Orange County Airport, and 8 minutes from Big Corona Beach in Corona del Mar, this is an ideal place to enjoy one of the world's most beautiful and prestigious areas, including Laguna Beach, Newport Beach, Corona del Mar, Balboa, Newport Harbor, etc.

Much like a hotel suite, this is a large studio with attached bath--and is a perfect get-away where you can relax and explore all the wonders of one of California's most beautiful cities, Newport Beach. It does not have a kitchen--but has a small refrigerator, a microwave, and a coffee maker. Save the money you might spend on a hotel and enjoy eating out in an area famous for great restaurants of all kinds. (It's a short walk to Peet's Coffee and some great little cafe's...and we'll tell you where the best fish tacos are in town!)

Situated less than a mile from Fashion Island, Newport Center, you will be minutes from world class dining, shopping, entertainment, surfing, boating, hiking Crystal Cove State Park, Laguna Beach, biking, beach combing, golf, theater, etc.

We have beach chairs and umbrella as well as beach towels for your use...so you can pack light.

Disneyland and Knott's Berry Farm are just 25 minutes away; and South Coast Plaza and the Orange County Performing Arts Center are less than 15 minutes away as well.

The weather is great year-round--so come to Newport any time and enjoy all that Orange County's beautiful coastline has to offer.

The Carriage House studio has heat and air-conditioning--though our ocean breezes mean you only use the air a few days per year. (We have the best weather on the planet!)

Exceeded my expectations

I don’t have enough words to describe how wonderful my stay was. The place is lovely, the location is wonderful but the highlight was the kindness of Ken and Pam. I’m very grateful that I had the chance to meet them and spend a lovely month at their property. Thank you so much Ken and Pam! If I have the chance, I’ll stay here again for sure!

Very nice place for a couple!

This is one of those places where you want to write a review because it is so nice and the owner is too. On the other hand, you don't want to share because you want it to be available when you want to book it! LOL. My daughter and I stayed here when she had a couple days orientation to UC Irvine. I came with her, had a little UCI orientation myself, but also worked during the day while she was gone. (I work in my own business and therefore have some flexibility where I work). There's enough room to spread out files, sit on the couch or work at the desk. My laptop was having trouble connecting to the wifi, but not sure why...I used my cell phone as a hotspot and was fine. The location is perfect --near UCI and Fashion Island, where we shopped and had a few meals. The bed was comfortable, the place was clean, and the shower had a strong enough flow. Quiet place. Being able to have fresh air and moderate temps was lovely. Easy groceries and dining places nearby. My husband and I will be staying here when we come to visit our daughter! I would definitely recommend this to our friends.

Perfect

The carriage house for our needs perfectly. Located in beautiful Newport Beach, it was a great alternative to pricey, charmless hotels. The owner was helpful and eager for us to enjoy our stay. Will certainly return here again as we often visit family in the neighborhood.

Perfect!

The Carriage House was perfect! It was the perfect place for us to stay for a quick get away to the beach. Everything was very close, Newport Beach, Fashion Island and Laguna Beach. Ken was a wonderful host and provided some great tips for the trip, and the studio was clean and private. We will definitely be back!

I am a retired Delta pilot. We built this home while I was flying and have lived in the main house since it was new about 12 years ago. We'll be on site to make sure your stay with us is enjoyable--and our guests have complete privacy in the detached studio/carriage house. It has a private entrance and also driveway parking for our guests. This is a beautiful area, and we'll work hard to make sure you enjoy it fully.

We raised our family in this great community--and we love this part of California, with terrific weather, beautiful beaches and harbor, and a beautiful section of coastline between Newport and Laguna Beach--just 6 miles south of Newport.
