Spacious well equipped apartment with stunning views over Kotor Bay. Within easy access of Kotor and the surrounding area. Make time for a visit to Sveti Stefan on the coast. Directions received prior to visit were exceptional. Not one wrong turn from Dubrovnik to meeting point. Would not hesitate to return.
We had a wonderful 10 night stay in this lovely apartment in Prcanj. Well equipped and spacious, the highlight is the wrap around balcony, which is accessible via 3 sets of patio doors giving a wonderful light and open feel to the property and maximum access to the stunning views. There can't be many better views anywhere.
Parking is ample, and as others have said a car really is necessary in our opinion if you're staying any length of time as the hill is very steep up to the house.
The little pool is adequate and a nice option for a dip, but in reality if you want to swim then get down to the bay! There's a lovely little restaurant, Know Lanterna, at the bottom of the hill, which opens all day including for breakfast and has a lovely little pier and small beach, with access to the bay for swimming. Idyllic.
The area is lovely, road to and from Kotor is tricky, but just take your time and don't be intimidated by beeping locals! There are plenty of shops, all take card payments, but the nearest cashpoint is in Kotor.
Nicky, who services the property, is brilliant, really helpful and happy to give advice on places to go and see. We felt very well looked after.
Overall a perfect break, which I cannot recommend highly enough.
What a sweet apartment with the most amazing views! Truth be told most of our time in the apartment was spent on the terrace. Great spot for exploring. We flew into Tivat and chose not to hire a car. Taxi to the apartment is only 20€. Taxi to Kotor is 10€ (and once was 5€) and to Budva 25€. Yes, the hill up to the apartment are steep, but the views are worth it!
The apartment was spotless and well equipped. As described. Some wear on the furniture. Dual aspect balcony great - morning sun right through to 4ish in the afternoon, with somewhere to sit out of the sun if you want. We hired a car, and felt that it made the apt work for us. Bakery and well stocked mini market close by. We used Red taxis at night, they were cheaper than others (between 4-5euro from Kotor). As the owners have said, it is up a steep hill, but not a major issue. Pool is small but really great - the children loved it. Nicky was really helpful and available if we needed anything. All in all, it's a relaxing location (once you get used to the narrow road and the speed of some other drivers 😊). We would recommend this apartment. Thank you, David and Angelique.
We had a wonderful week's stay at David and Angelique's beautiful apartment. It commands a breathtaking position over Kotor Bay and is well situated within walking distance (albeit up a very steep hill!) of two very good restaurants, and a small corner shop supermarket. We had everything we needed and slept very peacefully too. It's lovely to watch the sun come up over the mountains in the morning, the cruise ships enter and depart the bay, and the lights across the water gradually shine longer towards you as the evening draws in. The pool underneath is a welcome end-of-day treat in which to cool off in the shade. It's a short drive to a lovely small pebbly beach alongside the Hotel Splendido where the water is crystal clear and as warm as a heated swimming pool! A little bit further along is the beautiful old town of Kotor, which is definitely worth a visit, with a cool beach and bar, a kids' play area, shopping centre and lots of cafes, bars and souvenir shops to wander round in the old town. A further drive around the bay to Perast is a bit more upmarket and modern in terms of eateries and boat trips to some islands are available quite cheaply there too.
The mountains around the bay are so beautiful that it feels a lot less impressive when you enter the tunnel and come out the other side on the road to Budva, which as a town feels very overdeveloped and touristy, but the beaches nearby, particularly Jazz beach are well worth a visit. One side of the bay is very busy, noisy, but with cool inflatables for the kids, whereas if you walk all the way along the walkway to the far left end it's like some kind of Caribbean island. Hardly anyone around, a big space between sun beds and a very trendy beach bar nestled on the far rocks, which has waiter service too! Sveti Stefan is much-talked about, but very busy and commercialised. If you get a bed near the beach bar you can use their wi-if all day though...
Another day out was the long (90min) drive up to the Loscven National Park, which was actually just a big expanse of trees and didn't really have any kind of main entrance, but it did have a restaurant and a rather impressive walk up steps towards a mausoleum. I'm all honesty the drive up was far more impressive and you see the whole of Kotor Bay from a great height. If I could relive the day I would've just driven half way up to take in the view and then come back down again and gone to the beach.
