Weekly rentals. Welcome to this remodeled cottage on Honeoye Lake, with awesome views from the north to the south end of the Lake. There is a small beach area with a dock giving you access to swimming and an area to launch and store kayaks or a canoe. A dock allows you to bring your boat or water craft for great fishing and water activities on a lake that has low boating and recreational traffic. A front deck allows you to sit outside and enjoy the lake.
The cottage is handicapped accessible with plentiful parking available. It is located on a private road, so it is a quiet retreat with low traffic. The cottage is on level ground to the lake, so no steps to enjoy sitting out close to the water. There will be a few steps down to the dock on the property. Added handrail down steps to dock Spring 2015.
There is lots of shade with outdoor furniture and tables to enjoy daytime outdoor relaxation, nature, activities overlooking the lake, or even lawn games. Enjoy your evenings around the fire pit, also provided on the property. It’s a great way to BBQ and entertain outside as well.
Inside there are 2 separate bedrooms, and a remodeled bathroom. There is a remodeled and fully equipped kitchen, new appliances and dining area. An enclosed sunroom completes this cozy cottage with a sleeper sofa. There is WiFi and it has a 32 inch TV with cable service; DVD player and numerous board games, puzzles and magazines. Ceiling fans and standing fan in rooms and an A/C window unit assist with those warm to hot days.
The cottage is located only 2 miles from downtown Honeoye, which has a grocery store, dollar store, pharmacy, liquor store, local restaurants & coffee shops, Breweries, ice cream store, gas stations, library, bank, and post office. Local artisan shops are open to the public.
Sandy Bottom Creek is the local swimming area and park for Honeoye Lake and has supervised swimming during open season. There is also a large children’s playground downtown at the school open to the public and during the summer Honeoye has free Friday night concerts at the gazebo.
We are near numerous wineries, some having not only wine, but beer tastings. We have two local breweries in Honeoye - The Birdhouse Brewing Company and Twisted Rail Brewing Company. Hiking or biking trails offer various levels of ability. Harriett Foster State Park is nearby and the view of Honeoye Lake is absolutely breath taking. It not only has walking/hiking trails, but has mountain biking trails for the adventurist. Cumming Nature Center is a short drive and offers an educational building as well as various walking trails. There are numerous biking trails in the Finger Lakes region and also the Erie Canal Trailway.
Honeoye Lake has a state boat launch and the lake offers all kinds of water sports. There is Trident Marina (585-229-2271) located on the lake for rental needs. You can also contact Canadice Lake Outfitters in Springwater for kayaks, canoes, and paddle boards for delivery right to you (585-669-9512). We have had guests get these same rentals from Reagan's Canoe & Kayak Livery in Himrod (607-243-9100). You'll usually have a minimal order requirement.
There are several golf courses within a short drive into Victor, Naples, Canandaigua, or Rochester.
A favorite to all is Grimes Glen, in Naples, where you can walk within a gorge along a creek to beautiful waterfalls. Naples also has a Farmer’s Market, Monica's Pies for great homemade pie and jams, and the Bristol Valley Theater. Take time to visit the Wizard of Clay pottery shop, which is just over three miles away. Here you will find beautiful pieces of artwork and functional clay pieces. If you are looking for a day trip: Victor has the Eastview Mall and the Finger Lakes Scenic Railway. Canandaigua has Sonnenberg Gardens and Mansion; Penn Yan has the Windmill Farm and Craft Market – open Saturdays only; Corning Glass located in Corning, NY; Watkins Glen on Seneca Lake has a well known state park and Nascar race track; Genesee Country Village & Museum is located in Mumford, NY. There is Stony Brook State Park located in Dansville, with a $7 fee, but with a full day of activities. Letchworth State Park is close by too. Also, the town of Avon has the Vintage Drive-In showing newer movies rain or shine.
