Myself, my parents and aunty have now visited Flat 5 for the second year running and it is just as good as we remembered last time.
The flat is exactly as described and is always immaculately clean and tidy. There is a private entrance with securrity door and lift service to all floors. We were also fortunate enough to have been given a parking space in the garages below the flat, although a car is not necessary as there is a regular bus service on the doorstep.
The views from the flat are quite fantastic and far reaching, the balcony is larger than average and we regularly ate breakfast on the balcony. The flat is supurbly equipped with everything you could possibly need and is a real home from home. The owner met us as the property on arrival on both our visits and was very helpful with all aspects of familiarising us with the property There is also a comprehensive folder provided that covers operating instructions, do's & don'ts and helpful information of the surrounding area. The flat is on the main promenade in Sliema and the wide walkways provide a flat and pleasant walk along the seafront in either direction from the property. There are many restaurants within easy walking distance of the flat, we visited and enjoyed meals at:-
Ta' Kolina, La Cuccagnia, Ta' Pina and MiMi's.
There is a rock beach immediately opposite the flat and pleasant gardens to sit in and relax and read.
There are sandy beaches on Malta, but you will need to visit the top of the island to enjoy these. I recommend San Remo beach area at Melliah Bay. You can hire a very comfortable sunbed and umberella all day for 6 euro. There are food facilities, toilet facilities and an array of water sports and boat trips to choose from. The beach is very child friendly and the sand is clean.
I have been visiting Malta for the last 40 years and my mother is from Malta but has lived in England for the last 45 years. We visit every year and have stopped in many different types of accomodation in Sliema over the years, but we have now been totally spoiled by the fantastic quality of accomodation, personal attention and excellent position of this property. I would recommend this flat to anyone and we do not intend to go anywhere but here again in the future!
Great location! Close to restaurants and shops.
The view from the balcony is amazing.
We had most of our meals out there, enjoying the view. The fireworks at night were exceptional.
The apartment and it's amenities are first rate. Couldn't ask for a better place to stay.
Marylene was very helpful in making our stay a trip to remember! Thank you so much!
We would definitely stay there again!!!
This was our second stay in Flat 5a. Being of Maltese heritage from Australia we have several options for accommodation, however I cannot go past this flat for its location, appearance and the generosity of its owner Marylene. The Flat is very well furnished with touches of luxury such as fine artworks. We are a family of 4, and have significance space to relax and entertain. Bus stop is across the road as is a lovely swimming spot and shops, cafe's are within a short walk. At night the promenade across the road comes alive is a delight to stroll (Whilst enjoying a gelato of course). Could not recommend more highly.
Having spent the month of March in Marylene's home was everything we could hope for. It was huge, clean and a wonderful mix of modern and antiques. Everything was top quality and in excellent condition. The view of St. Julien's Bay from the living room and bedroom was spectacular, and both had doors on to a large balcony which was a sun trap from mid-afternoon until the sun went down, then the lights of the area came on - beautiful! The location is perfect looking out onto an 11 km. promenade and public gardens. We used public transport for our day trips to Gozo, Rabat and Mdina (not to be missed), and Ta'quali Craft Centre and Budigga. We took the bus to Marskala and walked over the cliffs to Marsaxlokk - a scenic coastal walk. Most times we walked to Sliema (The Strand) where boat tours leave from and also the ferry across to Valletta which has an abundance of places of interest - don't miss the Lascaris War Rooms and the Saluting Battery. From there, we took another ferry to the 3 Cities - Malta at War and the Rinella 100 ton cannon are well worth a visit. There are plenty of restaurants close by, Freshco's, Peppi's and Cara's are the closest. Park Towers supermarket is a nice walk along the waterfront to Julien's Bay, and closer are Meats and Eats (order cooked chicken for an easy meal) and another small supermarket for convenience.
To sum up - we stayed a month but wished it was longer. Marylene was wonderful to work with from our initial enquiry to when we left and although absent, she was at the end of an e-mail with quick responses.
We chose this beautiful apartment for its amazing view and prime location on the promenade. I grew up in Malta as child and it was important for us to be on the location.
When we arrived, we where very impressed at the size of the apartment. Clean, bright, and very comfortable. The photographs really do not do it credit. Marylene, a lovely person, was waiting to greet us on our arrival, and took her time to explain how everything worked, advise us on were to go, and what to visit. We had rented many a time in Sliema, but this place was very special. There really was everything you could need. We loved having breakfast on the large terrace overlooking the sea, then popping across the road to the beach for a swim. Taking walks in the evening along the promenade to Spinola Bay for dinner in one of the many restaurants nearby.
The bus stop is just nearby to take a bus into Sliema or Valetta, Golden Bay, Blue Grotto, or Mosta. I would love to return maybe next year ! I would certainly recommend this apartment to friends or family. Thank you Marylene for your kindness, and for telling us to visit St Johns in Valetta on our last day, of which was an amazing experience.
La casa e la vacanza maritano 5 stelle. La signora è disponibilissima e molto cordiale, il posto dove è collocata la casa è comodo e ha una buona vista sul mare.
Lo consiglio a tutti voi!! Non ve ne pentirete!!
