At a 7,400' elevation, Snowbowl Mountain Hideaway has magnificent views of the San Francisco Peaks and sits nestled in rural surroundings. This home has the best of both worlds. The back of house has a country-like setting which sprawls over 2 1/2 acres of natural grasses meadow terrain. Wildflowers crop up during the summer months where one hesitates to run the tractor to mow! The winter seasons bring wonderful snowfalls that leave picturesque views across the valley. A wooded area of ponderosa pines are scattered on the west side of the property. The side yard and all around the back of perimeter of yard is completely fenced in.
Here, one can sit and enjoy the sunrise with a cup of coffee on the deck/balcony in the morning, and cap off the day with a glass of wine in the evening - perhaps capturing the herds of elk heading down from the nearby forest to graze in the distant pastures. There is a variety of wildlife in the area; elk, deer, coyote, skunk, badger, raccoon, and even black bear. Overall, one never tires of taking in the serene sites of the countryside and mountain views. Other homes sit sprawled out on one or two acre lots.
In the evening, the extremely clear skies make this is a wonderful place to star gaze and one doesn't have to wait long before making a wish - seeing their first falling star of the night!
The house is approx. 1,800 sq feet. It has a Kitchen/Dining Room which is open to the main Living Room area. There is a wood burning stove that sits in this room supplying appealing warmth/ambiance for those chilly Fall and Winter seasons. A cathedral ceiling is over these rooms.
The Kitchen is a full kitchen with microwave, electric stove, and new LG stainless steel refrigerator and dishwasher. There is a large pantry for storage. The Kitchen has ample counter space for preparing meals and for seating, in addition to the table in Dining area. The outside deck/balcony has an additional 500 sq feet of extra space with picnic table/umbrella along with deck furnishings for comfortable and relaxed seating to enjoy the great outdoors.
The Master Bedroom has a king-size bed, and is located on the west side of the house, with a full bathroom attached. There is also a large walk-in closet in the Master Bedroom. On the other side of the house, beyond the Kitchen/Living Room area, are the other two bedrooms. Both bedrooms have two single beds in each room/dressers/end tables. (The 3rd bedroom has a day bed with trundle, that easily pulls out to a single bed). There is a full bathroom across from these bedrooms and a utility room with washer/dryer accommodations. A fully stocked linen closet is located at the end of the hall.
In the Living Room area, a queen-size fold-out sofa bed can be utilized to accommodate additional guests upon requests.
All bedrooms/Dining/Living Room areas have glass (arcadia) doors that lead out onto the deck/balcony area in the backyard. All of these bedrooms have wonderful views of the Peaks. The laundry room features new washer and dryer and free-standing sink.
The two car garage sits separate from the house and has ample room for bikes etc. There is plenty of parking in the driveway if one has an RV or trailer.
