We stayed 2 adults and four children aged 2 years to 12 years. There was nothing to complain about, it was clean and we had everything we needed.
We stopped in Villa Gig 3 with our three grown-up children and our daughter-in-law and had a lovely time in Almyida. The facilities of the villa were as described and the views from the upstairs balcony towards the White Mountains were amazing! The villa was well located within easy walking distance of the village, the lovely beaches and restaurants. The owners were very helpful with directions and suggestions of things to do. As mentioned by a previous reviewer, the pool, whilst not enormous was very clean and quiet and we almost had it to ourselves though there is very little shade for those who like to sit around and sunbathe all day. Almyrida is a nice family resort with only a couple of hotels and no nightclubs as far as we could tell. We certainly found plenty to keep us busy and would consider visiting this area again.
We were delighted with this villa, it had everything you could want for a holiday. There were only two of us, but the equipment and facilities would be suitable for bigger groups. The rooms were delightful, with front and rear balcony and patios. Two swimming pools, that being on a small complex were normally empty, and beautiful to swim in. it is a short walk to the beach and tavernas on the front. A delightful villa in ideal location, highly recommended. Lots nearby, but ideally need a car to travel further afield
Stayed 2 adults and 2 teenagers in 3rd week of October 2009.
Very Nice villa, with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and 3 terasses, everything clean and fully functioning.
Close to Almyrida Centre, with restaurants and beach (only 10 minutes walk away).30 minutes from Chania and Airport by car.
Lovely surroundings with nice swimming pools - preferred the beach though as the pools were to cold in October.
We have just returned from a wonderful autumn break in Almyrida. The villa was perfect, spacious, clean, well equipped and ideally situated for a relaxing holiday. Only a 5 minute gentle walk to the restaurants and beach. The beach is stoney in some areas but for the most part sandy with a gentle slope into the sea, ieal for young families. There is a nice selection of beach side bars and restaurants in Almyrida or you could take a walk into the nearby village of Plaka for a more authentic look at Crete.
