Was a great location and scenery. Recommendation for supper club to eat was excellent.
The place needs work.......and then it would be an excellent get away.
1. Beautiful nights - but couldn't open windows (sealed shut)
2. Kitchen seemed to have everything, but very dirty. Silverware and utensils were in a bin instead of in the drawers.
3. Oven door fell on the floor - definitely needs to be fixed before someone gets hurt.
4. Had a campfire - wood was nice and dry, but kindling was nowhere to be found.
5. Towels, dish cloths and hot pads needed in kitchen.
Overall, we had a great time, but making meals was a struggle due to poor kitchen conditions.
Quiet & Quaint
Charm Charm Charm!!!
No frills-not remotely the Four Seasons-but I loved it.
I love antiquities, I love comfort and simplicity and this place had all three.
Terry was great and very helpful.
We will be back!
Very good for group reunion of relatives. We could get apart but not too far for convenience.
Could have used one more bathroom for six of us. Cooking was ok. Need more silverware. Eating out at Stray dog bar and grill was great. Nice and quiet.
Nice cozy farmhouse
Enjoyed our stay at this old farmhouse. The guy who oversees the house was very nice and helpful. We will be back for sure.
Right prices. Good times,
Right price. Good times.
A great retreat!
We had a lovely time when we did a family retreat to this house. We were 5 adults, 1 child, and 2 dogs and the house was a perfect size for our group. I read some of the negative reviews and I don't think some understood that this is a farmhouse and things like mice and house issues happen. We smiled at some of the quirks of the house and Terry was also very helpful and accommodating.
Can somethings be updated? Absolutely. But I have things in my own house that need updating. I have been to 5 star hotels that have had issues. This is a 250 year old house...it's going to be unique and you embrace it for what it is.
Some suggestions if you will visit the house: bring your own drinking water, make sure any food you bring is covered, watch that oven door as it drops pretty low. The real perk was the kitchen has all the basic needs to cook including a microwave, coffee maker, toaster, kettle as well as plenty of plates and silverware. They even had coffee already there....in fact I think we left some Dunkin Donuts coffee there...so I hope the next people get to enjoy it!
We went there for a family winter retreat and it was perfect for our needs. We did a lot of unplugging and played board games (there are games there to play), card games, and we did all the puzzles they had there. We walked with the dogs and enjoyed the open air and the silence. My daughter pulled a book off the shelf and started to read it. We admired the dollhouse upstairs. We were warm (it was January and had some sub-zero temps during our stay) and cozy and safe. There was enough room for us to be together when we wanted and enough private spaces to retreat as needed. It gave us the peace and relaxation we needed.
