Excellent location, historic charm, needs a little TLC

Sherman was very helpful and promptly answered my questions in advance of our visit. We loved the location and easy access into the condo with the keypad. We were a group of three women, we felt extremely safe there. It was wonderful to be able to step out of your door and literally be in the heart of the French Quarter. There are a lot of stairs but that wasn't a big deal for us. We were able to park on the street temporarily to unload and load our things. Parking lot 407 is very convenient. The condo definitely has a nice historic/rustic feel to it. We loved the exposed beams and brick. It was great to have a place that we could easily walk back to to drop things off or for rest for a while between adventures. A couple of things to be aware of, it takes a little while for the water to warm up upstairs and the windows at the fire escapes don't lock (3rd and 4th floor interior facing courtyard). I don't like to be negative, however I think it's important to point out some things that need attention, especially at this price point. It appears that it's been a while since the furniture, decor and some of the fixtures in the condo have been updated or attended to.The couch in the living room was extremely worn and in bad condition. We put a sheet on top of it. The décor is dated, a few simple changes would make the unit more impressive. Several lightbulbs were burnt out in the living area, the drawer in the freezer section of the refrigerator is broken or off the track which makes access difficult. The ice maker did not appear to be working. The light was also burnt out in the shower. The Queen bed while comfortable needs some attention, a couple of slats were laying on the floor. When we arrived there was a pile of sheets and towels on the queen bed evidently left by the housekeeper. The unit had been cleaned, but wasn't especially clean. The windowseals were full of dead flies, the downstairs bathroom sink was not clean, the throw rugs in the unit are very dirty, they need to be washed or replaced. The coffee pot, which was pretty dirty inside doesn't work great. We tried making coffee with and without a filter, however still had trouble with it. In summary, the location is great and the condo is charming. However, I expected a 5☆ property based on VRBO rating and nightly rate. With a few updates and a very thorough cleaning it could be 5☆, however is not at this time. VRBO needs to add a choice between "I Loved It and Not Really".

Great place! We had a wounderful time. Charming house very clean we were pleased. Heads up on the stairs there are a few to climb. Would come again!

There were 3 of us and we loved the townhouse!! The exposed brick and wood are just beautiful. It has all the amenities you need. Perfect location. Owner answered questions very promptly

Perfect Stay

The townhouse was great. Very clean and nice rooms. Big enough for four guys, with one sleeping on the couch. Location couldn't be beat. Walked to Cafe Beneigh each morning and out to various French Quarter restaurants / bars each night. Owner was responsive and accommodating. As others have noted the stairs are rather steep, which was not a problem for us but may be challenging for others. Would definitely stay there again.

Perfect Location

Great times and company. Ideal location for those wanting to spend time in the French Quarter. A very well secured (three combo locked doors) two bedroom unit. The owner was easy to deal with and even left goodies our for our consumption. Plenty of towels, wash cloths, TP and comfy beds. We were able to navigate the steep stairwells but easily could be a problem for the elderly or injured.

Great town home, comfortable, perfect location to enjoy the New Orleans French Qukarter

We are native New Orleans folks who had to move away due to work. We drove back to New Orleans this year to enjoy Mardi Gras and get with family. We were lucky to find this place. The town home was located in the perfect spot. It was very close to the French Quarter attractions but away from the constant street noise generated by the Bourbon St. revelers. We really enjoyed Mardi Gras and the craziness that comes with being in the Quarter. The town home was very comfortable, well stocked and we had no problems during our week long stay. The town home had the feel of old New Orleans. If you drive in, you will need to secure parking. There is a parking lot, very close to the unit (Premier Parking - Lot 402). You can purchase a week long, 24 hour parking pass allowing you to come and go as needed. We were able to temporarily park directly in front of the townhome for unloading. If you do not want to mess with driving around town, Uber is a good, cheap way to get around. I would have to say the only downside to this town home was the stairs. Living area is on the 3rd floor and bedrooms are on the 4th floor. There is no elevator. If your cannot do stairs, this is not the place to rent. Overall, we had had great time, found the accommodations comfortable, well set up and in the perfect location. It is a great place to stay if you want to enjoy the French Quarter.
