I lived at the Stone House for 4 years whilst building another property just down the road where I now live. It's a very special home, when I spend a few days there I still find it hard to leave, especially now we've finished the renovation, it's bright, open, arty & fun.
I love unusual, natural, character places, which generally tends to be older properties. The Stone house is one of the original buildings in the bay, built from stones found on the land in 1960's, I believe they followed a Canadian chalet design, it was 2 apartments, we've now converted it into one house adding an extra bedroom with bathroom. I love the fact it has a chimney & fireplace an unusual feature that gives it character, I've now installed a built-in gas oven, which signifies our changing times. It's wonderfully solid & simple, stone walls & wood floors, the glass sliding doors & louvered glass windows are great, seeing the sea, sky & trees, feeling the breeze, all this gives me a sense of space & well being.
The pool is fab too, we've put an infinity edge shelf, so now it's so relaxing hanging on the edge watching the Bay.....perfect!
Undeniably the best spot in the house is the veranda, sitting on a lounge chair gazing down into this stunning bay, watching the boats, birds, people playing on the beach, the magical night scene with lights & music drifting up from the bay...with a cold Piton Beer...really can't be beaten, it's captivating, relaxing, therapeutic.... indescribable!
