Porque o proprietário optou Fredericksburg:
Temos sido no amor com o Texas Hill Country desde a nossa primeira viagem para lá. Nós construímos esta casa a partir do zero e espero que você vai se divertir tanto quanto nós fazemos. Há muito a fazer na área: degustação de vinhos, passeios pelas vinhas, as Nimitz Museu, Oktoberfest, muitas lojas especializadas e de antiguidades, Enchanted Rock and Lost Maples State parques, a LBJ Ranch e grandes estradas para explorar a beleza local.
Awhile back I took a FB poll on places to stay when in the Fredericksburg area. Some good friends of ours suggested this special place that they return to as often as possible. I researched it and fell in love! Thankfully there was vacancy during a popular time to be in the region, known for the bountiful wildflowers that blanket the ground. It's too good not to share.
We just returned from 3 days and 2 nights at Bella Vista Cottage located in Doss, Texas. A short 20 minutes or so West of Fredericksburg in the heart of the Texas Hill Country. Wow, wow, wow! Where to start?! What a "woosah place"! It can accommodate 2 bedrooms for a couples retreat or you can have it to yourselves. We had the latter. The luxurious and well stocked cabin is nestled pretty much in the middle of 55 acres with beautiful views and endless wildlife everywhere you look. There will also be a bottle of Becker Vineyards red wine and Fredericksburg chocolates waiting for you on the kitchen counter upon arrival. You're welcome to hike and walk around exploring if you wish. We saw deer anytime we happened to look outside, armadillos, skunks, raccoons and the bird life put on a perfect symphony to the surroundings. You cross through probably 5 property easements to get there going over multiple cattle guards, loose livestock (sheep, cattle, goats) and more of those beautiful Hill Country landscape views that could never get old. My wife loved the drives in/out with the abundance of springtime babies. Ya gotta admit, a baby goat is pretty cute! It's seclusion equates to a level of tranquility that I can't put into words. At night, you didn't even hear a distant car! Absolutely nothing. Just nature. I mentioned it was well stocked...As cliche as it sounds, it literally had everything you'd ever want or need. Pigs in a blanket, fresh fruit, OJ and great coffee was supplied; however if you chose to cook or dine in, the dream kitchen was ready to tackle anything you threw at it. A true home away from home. If you're looking for a place to recharge, unwind, unplug or celebrate...Then look no further. You will return home rejuvenated! By the way, there isn't even cell service there (Don't worry, there is a land line). These days, that's a good thing. We cannot recommend Bella Vista Cottage enough. They will be seeing us again!
We rented the home with another couple for a long weekend to check out shopping and the wineries in the area. We were very pleased with the beauty of the home, and all of the extra "perks" to make us feel at home. Wine and snacks were available and some breakfast items in the fridge. We love the fact that it was in a remote area and we thoroughly enjoyed watching deer while relaxing on the back porch. Kevin was very responsive and replied immediately when we contacted him about an unexpected water issue. He kept in regular contact and made sure to have someone come out quickly to check out the problem, and offered special accommodations for our inconvenience. We will definitely plan a return trip.
This is our third time to rent this property. This beautifully designed cottage never disappoints. From the fresh ground coffee provided to the koloches waiting for us in the fridge for breakfast. If you want luxury in the country. This is the place to be. See you next year.
By now, you've probably seen Bella Vista's video. It's excellent and enticing -- but the real thing is even better. This is no mere cottage. It's a thoroughly modern home with all the features of a luxurious city home, and it's beautifully decorated and maintained.
From the moment you enter the property and follow the winding driveway to the house, you appreciate the seclusion Bella Vista offers. The front yard is adorable and welcoming, and it even comes with the world's friendliest cat, Frida. (I'm not a cat guy, but Frida won me over in the first 60 seconds.)
As we entered the cottage itself, we were surprised at how spacious and contemporary it is. The kitchen has all the modern conveniences, and the appliances and cabinets are all top-of-the-line. Kevin and JoAnna put out a bottle of wine and chocolates, and breakfast was waiting in the fridge. There's also a home-theater setup, and wi-fi.
The kitchen and living areas set the bar high, and the bedrooms and bathrooms did not disappoint. Again, modern, stylish, and above all, comfortable. The master bed and bath are out of this world -- better than what you see in 99% of the houses out there.
And of course, there's the property itself. It offers a beautiful view of gently rolling hills. And because it's on 55 acres, it's quiet -- really quiet. At night, you can see the Milky Way, so bring your telescope if you have one. Oh, and the fragrance! I'm a city boy, so I don't know what it was -- sage? Whatever it was, it was all over the property and it put me in the best frame of mind.
We spent the day in Fredericksburg doing the Wine Passport thing (check it out at http://texaswinetrail.com/store/item/2016-texas-wine-month-trail). It's a beautiful drive of about 20 or 25 minutes. Oktoberfest was underway, so we had lots to do. That said, just staying at the cottage would have been enough.
My two days there were far too short. If you're looking to make a memory; if you want to experience the kind of serenity that you can only get in the country; but if you don't want to rough it, then by all means check out Bella Vista. I rarely use the word "amazing," but this place is amazing.
We were rewarded for the drive beyond town and out into the Hill Country with a lovely home and beautiful setting. It was a delight to get a cup of excellent organic coffee in the early morning and then go outside to listen to the birds, watch the hummingbirds, rabbits and deer, and scratch Frida behind the ears.
Well appointed and lovely home. Didn't love the deer heads but oh well, hunters are hunters. It is true that there is no cell phone receptive but you don't have to drive far down the road to get it again. Just don't drive fast - sheep and deer and cows own the road!
If you want to relax, hear no people, hear no airplanes, hear no cars, you better visit this property. First Class all the way. We enjoyed watching the deer every morning and evening. The Hummingbirds are everywhere. And the resident, "Freida the Cat" was a nice touch. We will be back many times. I highly recommend this property.
