You can relax on the double tiered deck with a cup of hot chocolate while looking out into the snow covered Shenandoah Valley National Forest. You can enjoy a few rounds of pool, foosball, or ping pong with your family and friends all at the comfort of your vacation home.

The home also features a gas grill and large fully-equipped kitchen to fit all of your culinary needs. Modern décor fills the house, and the newly renovated lower level adds to the comfort and style. It includes the play room, kitchenette, and a second master bedroom with 42” flat screen TV and private bathroom with a Jacuzzi. Both floors feature 42” flat screen TV (Netflix, Stars, Showtime, sports channels...) and plenty of space to sit back and take the night off.

With just a five minute drive to the slopes, water park, 2 golf courses, go-karts, mini-golf and other attractions, this house is a vacationer’s dream. Come here for a family reunion, with a group of friends, or for a romantic getaway. This place will be exactly what you are looking for.

Spacious, but not clean

Says hot tub and linens are provided, but the welcome email indicates that renters must bring their own towels, and there’s a small indoor jacuzzi tub - definitely not a hot tub. The kitchen was stocked, but was missing some critical things like a large baking pan and scissors that worked, and was lacking in cleanliness, with ants, insect bait traps that were old, lightbulbs burnt out and/or missing, and general filth around the house.

Unfortunately Disappointed

We were so excited to come to Massanutten for the weekend. We were greeted with ants everywhere upon entering the property (after tripping over the loose molding in the entryway). The counters were covered in ants, they were all over the basement, even climbing up the walls- making it impossible to keep food out or have open bags in the trashcans. While sitting playing games we continually found ants walking on our arms or legs. We woke up in the morning with ants covering our (closed) drinks on the kitchen table. We went to put the sheets on the bed, and 4 out of 5 rooms had hair on their sheets. The walls were dirty and muddy- visibly spills left on the walls as well as muddy footprints, with leftover decorations from a previous renter half ripped-off on the wall. Additionally, one room had dried out contacts and earrings left on the window sill. Neither hand or bath towels were provided, which was frustrating as we already had to travel with towels for the water park. It is clear the house had shoddy renovations done. The basement door swings the wrong way and is a hazard/code violation- especially with children. Additionally, the floor was sinking in several places and there were visible water marks on the ceiling of the basement underneath the kitchen sink and dishwasher, which was concerning. If looking for a place to lay your head with minimal furniture/decorations and the level of cleanliness if not of concern to you, this house fits the bill.

Family retreat

We really enjoyed our stay. Lots for people to do with all the games. Plenty of room and easy to keep clean.

Great location and stay

We really enjoyed our stay, great location and house was clean. Communication with the host was timely as well. Our recommendation would be upgrade some of the kitchen pots, pans and utensils and add a fireplace.

A nice house and location for family

Our party included 6 adults, a teen and a 12 year old child, so we occupied every bathroom, bedroom and space in the house for 3 nights. I chose the rental mainly because of the ping pong, foosball and pool tables for the kids to enjoy, which they did. There were no other games or books in the house, however there was a Spotify app in the TV to enjoy music. The house was clean but we did see quite a few ants and bugs inside and rodent droppings in the garage. There were several minor cosmetic issues, such as loose floor molding, doorknobs that didn't latch, toilet paper holder off the wall, broken jagged drawer in one fridge, broken hardware on the ping pong table. The kitchen was pretty well equipped but the can opener did not work, none of the larger knives were very sharp, nor were there any kitchen towels (recommend bringing any of these items you might need). We did not use the grill because it was very rusty didn't look safe to use. Overall the house met expectations and the location is excellent, the beds were reasonably comfortable. Renters should be very careful of the step down to the lower level stairs. The flooring is deceptive and we had some older folks were not able to see the step and lost their footing there at first. Other positives - 2 full size refrigerators with freezers (one up / one downstairs, no icemakers), lots of pantry and closet space, room for at least 4 cars to park, one thermostat on each floor. Would stay again!
