Our grandparents purchased this traditional beach cottage in 1952 from a family that lived in it year round. Subsequent improvements do not successfully hide these simple origins. No granite countertops, no TV, this is a refuge from the modern world. But the kitchen and smaller bathroom were completely renovated in 2013. The cottage is 75 yards from the bluff and path to the Surfside beach, the best beach on the Island. Water views from the deck, kitchen and living room. One bedroom has a queen bed, two have double beds and the fourth has two sets of bunk beds and a slew of children's' games and toys. There is a small playhouse for kids. One full bathroom and one half bath and a delightful outdoor shower. Endless hot water (not, of course, that you would fail to conserve water). Forced air heat warms you quickly on cool foggy days.
