|Tipo de imóvel||cabana|
|Estadia Mínima||2 noites|
We very much enjoyed our time in the cabin. It had all your basic amenities needed to be in a home away from home. (Much better than staying in a hotel!) Property owner Jane was quick to respond to any of our questions prior to our arrival. Property Manager Christine was easy to reach and addressed any of our questions or concerns very promptly (toliet seat broke and was fixed by the time we returned from our daily adventure in the park). I would easily recommend this cabin to anyone I know wishing to visit the park. Only issue we had was the steep roads getting to the cabin but this was more an issue with a low profile rental car and not being familiar with those types of roads.
When I pulled up (or I should say down) to the cabin, I was so thrilled to see a tiny house!!! The directions given to me were flawless and I had no trouble finding it. For a tiny house, it was plenty enough room for three adults; the bedroom and upper loft are completely separate and privacy is available. There is no TV service, but plenty of DVD's to choose from. The view of the stars is absolutely amazing! If you want a quiet get away at a great price, go here. I wish I would've stayed longer. You are right near the national park and are within an hour (or so) of the main attractions within the park. I recommend climbing Moro Rock, visiting Kings Canyon, and seeing every single sequoia tree. Stay for as long as you can, trust me!

This cabin is very convenient to the south side of Sequoia National Forest and reasonably priced. It is very cute inside with a full kitchen. I would recommend that one bring their own linens as plenty of blankets and pillows are provided. It was great to have a cool, air-conditioned cabin to come to after a long day touring the park. Window a/c units were very loud and made it difficult to sleep. We would stay here again, if the opportunity affords.
My husband and I stayed in this humble cabin for three weeks, while I was researching my book on Sequoia and Kings Canyon national parks. Prior to my stay the owner was very communicative and quick to answer any questions I had. I also have to say that we are experienced long-term vacation home renters. I like to base myself in one area for research, and we usually pack along our groceries (and some specialty utensils) and prepare our meals and picnic lunches for the length of our stay.
The house was clean when we got there, and the housekeeper asked me if I needed any fresh linens during our stay. The house was functional – mostly furnished with Ikea items -- and since I read the previous posts I knew to bring some comfortable lawn chairs for the deck.
If I were to rate the home solely on location I would give it a 5, but since I factored my whole experience into this review, I gave it a 3 – which is still OK in my book.
The unit needs a little TLC, including a fresh coat of stain on the outside, the replacement of broken and missing window screens and blinds, and some screen door repair or replacement. The front porch light does not work, and there was no DVD player in the bedroom (as indicated in the listing). The oven was a little temperamental, but it shouldn’t be an issue if you don’t plan to cook a lot (as we did). There was plenty of storage space in the bedroom and in the loft. And I was happy to see that the missing coffee maker (reported in a previous review) had reappeared.
The big surprise was the bed – it was only 15 inches high. It didn’t look that short in the photos, but now as I look at them I can see it. There also wasn’t a lot of room around the bed, so that resulted in some banged up shins until we got used to it. The mattress was OK, but after 3 weeks I was happy to get home to my own bed. There is also a large closet and some built-in drawers in the bedroom, which wasn’t pictured in any of the photos.
I noticed that some people mentioned the “neighbors” across the road. After chatting with the housekeeper I found out that unit was also a rental. They have one unit upstairs and a smaller apartment downstairs, so it will be potluck as to what kind of neighbors you will have. I will say though that the different people who stayed there during our stay were quiet and respectful.
Basic lodging option among a pod of other cabins situated within the park. 5 minutes to park station where tickets to Crystal Cave are available. 40-45 minute drive to General Sherman. Owner was very easy to communicate with in terms of directions, getting in and out, etc. TV and DVDs on site were a plus, as was the air conditioning. Fit two adults and two kids (6 and 10) comfortably. We would have given 4 stars if not for the fact that the beds in the loft had not been changed/cleaned prior to our arrival. Keep in mind, there is no cell service at this location (or pretty much anywhere else in the park!) so make sure you know where you are going since your GPS on your phone may or may not be helpful.
