Our group spent a week at this lovely house in the middle of July. The house is extremely comfortable, and big enough so that you don't feel like you're on top of each other. The bedrooms are all a good size, and each has a nicely appointed bathroom. The entire house is beautifully decorated and the kitchens are extremely well stocked with everything you'll need to prepare meals. We brought up our two large dogs and they loved the huge back lawn leading right into the lake. The grounds are nicely maintained, and the house was exceptionally clean when we arrived. This house is also very convenient for day trips to Burlington (we went to Ben & Jerry's too) and Montreal - both are about an hour. Ausable Chasm is right down the street and was breathtaking, and less than a mile away is a Marina where we rented a boat one day (we also noticed Kayak rentals, but we didn't do that). I would highly recommend this house to anyone looking to spend a week or two at the lake. We hope to go back soon. Thanks Chris & Sharon!
We just completed a terrific stay at Lost Lake Lodge. The picture on the website are very accurate, but when you arrive you truly understand the attention to detail that the owners have put into this property.
We were attending a wedding at the Valcour Conference Center, two minutes away from the lodge. We were also celebrating our own anniversary that weekend. I contacted a personal chef, PanLov, and they created a sumptuous meal for ten and we enjoyed our celebration 'al Fresco' overlooking the beautiful lake. The two kitchens allowed the chef's to prepare the meal without interrupting
The lodge is spacious and well maintained. I would highly recommend this place for a large family or some close friends.
Thanks Chris & Sharon for sharing your home with us.
Thanks Terri for all of your assistance

This was our second time staying at the Lost Lodge and it was even better than the first. Chris and Sharon have not spared any expense with top of the line appliances, easy to follow instructions and of course, easy access to the lake. There is nothing better than having your morning coffee while sitting on the back deck looking at the boats in the water. Too much sun? No worries as a push of a button brings down the automatic awning. Of course, it's a quick trip to the ferry to Burlington, 1/2 hour to the Canadian border, less than an hour to Lake Placid. Grocery stores, shopping mall and restaurants are 15 minutes away in Plattsburgh. It easily sleeps 8 people with an upstairs and downstairs kitchen. Premium movie channels, gas fireplaces and even a piano help put a good end to a relaxing day. We will definitely be back!
A wonderful home! We loved everything about it, especially the deck. We paddled every day, did a little sightseeing, but mostly we just enjoyed the great weather in this very comfortable home. We used the grill a few times, had a fire in the fire pit by the lake, but mostly sat in those very comfortable tall Adirondack chairs on the deck. The property manager was very responsive when we asked for anything. Loved that each bedroom has its own bathroom. And the beds were all comfortable. Good quality linens, a very well stocked kitchen. We loved it all.
There was something for everyone at the lost lodge. We were a group of 10...2 grandparents, 6 30 something's, and 2 toddlers. We all loved every minute. The place was clean, most well equipped, and able to comfortably accommodate all of us. There were 2 washing machines and dryers...although we were all too busy to worry about laundry! We swam, canoed, paddle boated, floated and dangled our toes in the quiet, clean, cool expansive lake. We spent hours down at the water just sitting with our grandsons while they played with rocks. There are 2 decks both lovely, and able to accommodate a large group. We called the upper deck the sunrise and the sunset deck as both times of the day displayed glistening water views. There are 2 bird feeders which attract colorful birds which adds to the leisurely feel there. The house was clean, well stocked (including books and puzzles) and very large. We gathered upstairs, but there is a downstairs living area if one wanted to get away from the bustle. There was so much to do outside the lodge including golf, but we honestly were having too much fun to go venturing. Some did make it to Montreal, and Burlington and other found a park for the kids, and a well stocked second hand library. The owners and manager were so helpful. We got the impression that their first priority was us having a great time...like they wanted to share their home.
The home was as advertised. Very comfortable and well equipped (for Thanksgiving Day dinner in our case). The owners were helpful, and made it a very easy, hassle-free rental experience. There are two very distinct living areas (downstairs has a separate living room and kitchen), so it can work for two families/groups. Decorated with whimsy (airplane is a nice touch) to the delight of our 5 and 7 year olds. Only drawback is a location that's just far enough away from Burlington, Montreal and Lake Placid which makes venturing out a commitment to a short day trip (as opposed to just "going into town"). Upside is that you can take a day trip to Burlington, Montreal or Lake Placid very easily. Overall, very good experience.
