Wonderful home!

Loved our stay at this home. We were 3 families, 2 kids each and this house accommodated us perfectly. Close to town, great kitchen...happy, happy. The train behind the home took some adjusting to and it would have been nice to have some window coverings in the upper master but the train can't be helped and became almost charming towards the end of our stay.

Spectacular lake home!

Wonderful hosts - thank you for sharing your beautiful Whitefish Lake home with us for our monthly June vacation! The house had everything our family needed for a comfortable stay. We would love to come back!

The owner/manager of this home is unethical and unprofessional

This house sits directly adjacent to the railroad tracks with frequent trains running around the clock. The house vibrates when the trains pass and quite loud. This was never disclosed to us. In addition, the heat did not work in the downstairs area where most of the bedrooms were. It was very cold. This was not disclosed to us prior to arrival. When I asked the owner for an adjustment on the rental rate she refused. Later she charged us almost $100 to refinish an end table in the living room because a glass left a water mark on the wood. There were no coasters and this is normal wear and tear. We did not have a good experience with this unethical owner/manager.

Resposta do proprietário: Oh my, as much as we try to please all our guests, obviously some are not happy no matter how much we try. Yes, the railroad does run by a good portion of the homes along Whitefish Lake, but the railroad is very much a part of the Whitefish ambience (note other guest reviews, it truly is not an issue for the majority of guests, winter or summer!) Our home is very well-built with triple wall insulation and is very sound structurally. We did discover a problem with the boiler that supplies radiant heat to the floors to about 20% of the entire home, which included the garage, along with the upper master and lower master suites the day before this renter arrived. HOWEVER, our boiler service had us purchase portable electric heaters that very day for these spaces, AND WE NOTIFIED the guest of such by email and text before his arrival. When our housekeeper arrived (saving me a two hour trip) to help the guest locate a plunger (one on each level), she noted the entire house was very warm, (including the garage!) and demonstrated the thermostats for the rest of the 80% of the house not affected by the boiler. I do realize guests coming from Southern states may not understand how cold our Montana winters are, but rest assured this home is quite cozy!! There also is a gas fireplace on the main level in the Great Room/Kitchen area and one in the Master bedroom, both of which put out a lot of heat! There are many large windows in this home, which allows for all the wonderful views, that may feel cool without properly turning up the heat in winter! We do take care of Our Guests within reason and if this home was questionable in anyway we most certainly would've found alternate housing for this guest. Please contact the Owner with any concerns. PS We do have 2 sets of coasters in the Great Room area...

January Ski Vacation

What a wonderful place to call home for our group of 5 couples while on our annual Ski Vacation! This home is perfect for entertaining with the kitchen & Great Room together on the main level where our party mainly hung out. A little cold for the outside BBQ, but the kitchen/living area was cozy with the gas fireplace. Kitchen was well stocked and plenty of towels for the hot tub & baths. Gorgeous views from all rooms in this home of the frozen lake across to Whitefish Mountain. Lots of wonderful snow our entire stay. With a 20 minute drive to the ski area and a short drive to the downtown restaurants & bars, it was a prefect location for us. The 5- bedroom/5-bath floor plan allowed us lots of privacy & room to spread out in. The heated floor 2 car garage with the built-in ski rack was wonderful to unpack all our snow-filled ski gear at days end! An enjoyable home in a wonderful winter setting, we look forward to next year! Owners were very nice & even left us a gift basket.

August on the Lake

This rental home is a fantastic place to spend time with family on the beautiful Whitefish Lake! The five bedroom set up lends itself very well for at least two families to share time together. It is a spacious, well kept home. The view is so special from the master bedroom, such a wonderful way to wake up each day. It is in a quiet neighbourhood and has plenty of room for parking and a boat trailer. The train runs directly behind the property but the home is well insulated and the train noise is not a real issue. It is part of the charm of Whitefish! The home is well stocked and you are able to make yourself feel at home. The owners are fantastic to work with and are quick to respond to any issues that may arise. We enjoyed our stay very much!! Whitefish is a wonderful year round destination and this home is close to all amenities!

My month in Whitefish

I had the great fortune to spend a month in Whitefish celebrating my 60th with all my favorite people. This home is large and very comfortable and beautiful, but I did feel the maintenance was lacking.

The outdoor furniture was in poor shape, as well as the dining chairs inside were quite wobbly. There were no stairs to the hot tub and not everyone I know was agile enough to enter the tub from the outside slider door step. Many of the towels were either frayed or had bleach stains. One bathroom had a broken glass door on one side and light out in the shower. The oven hood fan knob was missing. Broken rack in the dishwasher. The windows and screens didn't look like they had been cleaned in quite some time. The train was a little annoying. I know it sounds like I am nit picking, and I did really enjoy my time there, but as this is a high end rental, I guess my expectations were high.

I would suggest going though with the owner or agent prior to your assuming the rental.

Resposta do proprietário: My experience with guests is 1 in 9 would be happier in a full service resort rather than a private home rental! Please note : we do rely on our guests to notify us of any problems/repairs, as even our cleaner, as thorough as she is, may not notice certain items. Here is what I would like to address : - Thanks for calling our attention to the 2 chairs on the deck that were in need of replacing, however there are also 8-10 other deck chairs on our main deck! - Tightening of screws in dining chair arms done - Hot tub step seems to satisfy most guests - We have 2 sets of (2) quality towels per each of the 5 bathrooms - Frontgate & similar brands - my Housekeeper takes pride in putting out our best towels! There are the odd extras that we keep in the laundry that maybe this guest is referring? - There is NO broken glass in any of our 5 showers. My guess is the sauna door is what is referred to - it sometimes catches sticks & may pull off the runner. - Guests tend to overload the dishwasher rack, causing breakage of parts, and we did have a service man in within a few days of having it called to our attention to address this. - Windows can spot up after any storm that blows in. Also, birds & bugs tend to be attracted to all the large windows. We do clean spring & fall. - The Train!! The train is part of the ambiance of Whitefish! It can be heard throughout Whitefish year 'round! We take pride in this Custom Home and wish our guests to be comfortable in all we provide in the house. I would like to mention we do have returning guests each summer that love the house, location & beauty of Whitefish Lake! Any concerns will gladly be discussed by the owner!
