Everything about the house was lovely and just as described! The beach was beautiful and secluded. I think we saw about 5 people on the beach all 9 days. The weather was a perfect 83, sunny with a breeze every single day. Being from Missouri (home of high humidity in the summer months) to have this kind of weather and no humidity (Nov 4-12-2017) was amazing. We enjoyed getting to met the locals and ate with them on most days. Ralph (the Gullywash man) across the way was helpful and gave us lots of information about the area. Met fellow American, Sylvia (retired w/husband living down the beach) from Pittsburgh PA. She also was a friendly face who offered to help with anything we needed while there. Bishop's Beach Bar and Grill was as great as ever!! We always enjoy the food and getting to catch up with Bishop, the owner. Conch and grouper fingers are still the best anywhere!! Snorkeled out to the reef saw several different types of fish including a Barracuda!! Found out later after swimming out quite a ways further we were out where they do a lot of fishing and fighting the sharks for the snapper!! Glad to report we didn't see any but didn't go out that far again, yikes!! Ali's cousin brought 10 large lobster tails for $20 (yes I did say 10 for 20) we grilled out two different nights. Loved every minute. Worst thing about vacation was saying goodbye!!
Paradise found definitely held up to its name, it was truly paradise. Everything in the house was as advertised. The locals of pelican point were extremely friendly and go out of their way to help you with anything you would need. We used the boat several days for fishing, snorkeling and catching lobster. Definitely a bonus with the rental. We also used the kayak for fishing to catch grouper and queen trigggerfish. Paradise found is the place to go if you want to get away from the everyday hustle of life. Chris and Sam were very helpful from the beginning to the end.
Thanks for allowing us the priveledge of staying in your home.
My family and I stayed here this summer and it ranks as one of the top vacation spots ever! The house was beautiful, open and very spacious. Sliding glass doors and full length windows give an unobstructed view of the ocean for the entire length of the house. Granite countertops throughout and open common areas give the house a modern, yet cozy feel. The house was clean and everything was in excellent working condition. A boat and truck was provided as part of the rental fees, providing daily activities on the water for us that we thoroughly enjoyed. The fishing and snorkeling around the coral reefs was amazing! Due to family consensus, we are already planning our vacation next year here!
This was such a lovely and peaceful retreat - my family and I just loved waking up every morning to the ocean views and walking out to do some beachcombing with coffee in hand. Minimal people around, hammock naps, sounds of the beach...sigh...I want to go back. If you are looking for some R&R look no further than this little slice of heaven. Snorkeling right out front, many shells, and hermit crab entertainment for days!
I looked for a house on the sand, where I wouldn't see anyone and I could completely unwind. I got all of these things in this house......
Overall we had a wonderful vacation and enjoyed our time. The house is very spacious, but the furnishings are quite shabby and need to be updated, as do the bathrooms.
The house is directly on the sand and has beautiful views. The house comes with the use of a boat which I thought would be perfect for our party especially as all three men are VERY experienced boaters. You must note that that the boat ramp which is about a mile or so down the road is VERY narrow, so unless you have a ton of experience backing a boat on a trailer down a ramp, don't even attempt it. Unless the water is perfectly flat it is not possible to take the boat out as it's too dangerous. We were only able to use the boat 3 out of our 7 days which was disappointing as even if there is a light chop it is too harrowing to take it out.
You need to come prepared! There are very few places to get provisions or eat within 15 minutes from the house. We did go to all of the restaurants recommended and they were all fine, but mostly all sold the same fried conch etc. Get plenty of food for breakfasts and lunches. BRING BUG SPRAY. You need as much bug spray as sun screen. The bugs/biting flies are brutal!
We also brought blow up floats with us which was great because we used them a ton of times. There is a hammock outside which was nice.
Again, overall it was a pleasant stay.
I have visited Chris and Sams house in Pelican Point twice now. We had a great time there, and the fishing and snorkeling are top notch right in front of the boat ramp. I am sure I will be back many times in the future. Freddy the caretaker is very nice as well. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to get away from the hustle and bustle. The only thing I would recommend is to bring plenty of food as there are not allot of dining options at this end of the island. But who cares about restaurants when there are fish to be caught and snorkeling to be done! I am sure I will be back with my family in the near future. Have a good day!! Dylan
Nossa casa está localizada no pequeno povoado de Pelican Point no East End of Grand Bahamas Island e está situado em uma praia de areia branca e 50 'longe do espetacular do Oceano Caribe!
