Beautiful place to stay in Lahina, Maui

We love this condo at the Aina Nalu, so much so that this is our third time staying here. This 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom condo is perfect for our family of five. The kitchen is great with all the conveniences of home. Our three kids love to sit up at the peninsula for breakfast or a snack. The pool is our favorite - it is so peaceful and beautiful and never too crowded - our kids just love it. It's only a short walk to downtown Lahina with lots of great restaurants and only a short drive to nearby Safeway, CVS and the beautiful Black Rock Beach. I highly recommend this condo and we are for sure going back to rent it again. Thank you Michelle for the great experience as always.

Close to everything, yet quiet.

We enjoyed ourselves at Aina Nalu. We were traveling with a large group and were able to get condos next to each other. By staying in Lahaina, we were able to do things together and yet not be stressed out by having to travel by car with a large group every time we wanted to do something. It is literally a block and a half to downtown Lahaina, beaches and bus lines. I love the cabanas at the pool and they were easy to get and did not cost any more. The pools were warm and inviting. One could always find a chair! The BBQ's were appreciated and we used them a few times! ( go early, as they are popular!) The rooms were quiet except for the few rude people that have to show off how they can screech their tires. The room was well stocked with what was needed to cook and entertain. Be aware that the windows in the bathrooms are next to the walkway, and keep your blinds closed. I would stay here again as it was easy to book, nice to stay at and no check in process once we arrived. All had been taken care of prior to arrival. Thank you for a memorable stay in Maui!

Great location

The condo development is in a good location to (walking) downtown Lahaina Business District. It is also a very short walk to public transportation, catholic church, and grocery store. It should be noted that if anyone takes a shortcut from the condo and walks down Hale Street, there is a homeowner who leaves two large dogs outside, not on a leash, one of which is a pit-bull. The parking across the street was $ 15.00, not $10 as advertised. The condo itself was very roomy however is in need of some improvements. The microwave is set up very high above the stove top and difficult for anyone under 5'6" to see into and to reach. The cookware is old, uneven bottoms on frying pan, rubber spatula is torn, etc. Condo is supposed to accommodate 5 people (which it can), however the items provided in the kitchen are sparse. The sheets on the sofa-bed were ripped, as was the blanket. The baseboards in the unit were very dirty with dust/dirt buildup and the lighting in the bathrooms is very poor. The bed skirt in bedroom was very dirty, dusty, and stained. The dishwasher did not clean dishes well and should be either looked at or replaced. The ice bucket was broken, cracked on the bottom inside, and dirty. The coffee pot does not have an automatic shut-off which is quite unusual in today's time. Tenants should be aware so as not to leave it on all day by mistake. One should be aware when renting this unit, there is no maintenance personnel to assist, should the need arise.

We did find it quite irritating that many of the stores in the downtown area had people outside trying to give you free samples of their product and get you to go inside their store (skin care). That may be normal in some countries, but not typically in the US. It almost felt like harassment the way they kept bothering us.

If the corrections and/or improvement recommendations/suggestions noted above are made, it would rate a 4 star. The condo development is quite nice.

Resposta do proprietário: In response to your review, I am shocked to know about the dogs on Hale Street, we are at Aina Nalu at least twice a year and this is something I have never experienced when walking down Hale street. The parking across the street from the resort has been 12.00 and good to know they are charging 15.00!! We keep a full set of all kitchen necessities and will do a full inventory of items needed. Have never heard this complaint but people usually eat out in the restaurants for most of their dinners. The developer put the cabinets in too high and the microwave can be hard to access if you are short. Our cleaners are incredibly meticulous with their work so I apologize and will let them know about the sheets and bedskirt and dirt/dust. The dishwasher is an unusual size but will have maintenance try to experiment with it. By the way, I did have maintenance waiting to arrive at the condo for your issue but you called my and said for them not to come so that is why they did not come, not sure where that breakdown occurred but we do have maintenance people available during reasonable hours. Downtown Lahaina does have people that are trying to sell timeshare condos by giving people deals on activities but for the most part they don't solicit folks but apparently you were. We will work to make your suggestions a part of our management, but honestly this is the first time I have been told this so will work on it. We always hear the kindest remarks about this condo so will look at improvements. Thanks for your input.

location, location, location.

Nice apartment clean and functional in every way. The unit manager met us at the unit and briefly reviewed everything we need to know about the facility. The code they originally gave us for the door and one of the bathroom keys for the pool area didn't work but I'm sure they fixed that by now.

They have two pools, the large salt water pool was warn and very busy with many small children, the smaller fresh/chlorine pool was much cooler and was quiet.

The mattress on the one bed was comfortable but broken down and creaky on the sides. NO sneaking in or out of bed that's for sure.

But the location was just as described just blocks from town, we had great meals at Lahina Coolers which was only about one block away on the way to the main street.

The unit is near the street a good thing. One reason is because the overnight parking is $20.00 from the "office" (who for some reason has nothing to do with this unit). But we parked on the street right by the unit every night free and we could look out and see if a spot came available. Hey saved $80. bucks.

A walking town for sure, the shave Ice with ice cream at the bottom was MY favorite from the small stand next to the stairway to Captain Jacks upstairs restaurant (which has great food at reasonable price)

We never did find the swimming beach close by but we had a car and looked for snorkel sites out of town.

We rented a car because Lahaina is about 30 to ? minute drive (depending on traffic) probably $50. cab ride each way, we rented a full size car 4 days for $122.00 with freedom to go anywhere.
