My husband, sister and I spent a week in Montreal while visiting my son and the apparent was perfect. This is a lovely apartment located in a residential neighborhood in the hub of Montreal. Fantastic location, well equipped, very clean and extremely comfortable, we couldn't have asked for more. Despite easily accessible public transit we walked everywhere and yet we didn't have to go too far because close by there were great cafes, deli's, bakeries, bars and restaurants and Mt. Royal at your doorstep. Thomas dropped by to ensure everything was okay and he made great suggestions for eating. We loved this apartment and will definitely return again. You won't be disappointed!
We spent a week in Thomas's apartment and had a wonderful experience. Well-equipped, scrupulously clean, comfortable beds, excellent wifi, amazing location - what more could you need? The area is fabulous and well-located for public transit to anywhere in Montreal. No need for a car - we explored thoroughly on foot and by metro and bus, easily and inexpensively. We'll be back in the spring for McGill convocation and just hope this apartment is available!
HIGHLY RECOMMEND the apartment! You will want to stay here -- we left this morning and we can't wait to come back. This is a perfect location within walking distance to everywhere, which was the most important factor when we were looking to book. We didn't bother with the Metro to get downtown, or to Mount Royal, or to McGill, or to the Old City and the port -- it's only a 30-35 minute walk through the most fascinating neighborhoods to get just about anywhere. St. Laurent is around the corner with cafes, butchers, bakeries, shops, restaurants, art -- but Laval Street is quiet. It's a beautiful historic street. The apartment was spotless (the cleaner came late but it was no problem at all and Thomas and Laurence made it right - they were so responsive and attentive and generous; perfect hosts). It is a beautiful apartment with all the luxuries of home, so comfortable and well appointed. Even better than described! You will want to try the Cat Café, Chez Jose, one of the Portugais restaurants, Schwartz's or the Main, and best of all Majestique for oysters and great service. Just a perfect stay all around!
My family and I really enjoyed our stay here. The apartment itself was clean and had all the amenities anyone would need while travelling (pictures provided are very accurate). The owner, Thomas, is very friendly and accomodating. We had a toddler with us and very much appreciated that there are several playgrounds and parks in easy walking distance from the apartment. The neighborhood itself has wide array of cafes and restaurants (be sure to treat yourself to Au Pied de Cochon, it's worth it). Street parking was easy to find which also made this a more affordable and convenient alternative to other parts of Montreal. The nearest Metro stop is an easy walk and provides easy access to Jean Talon Market, The Biodome and other sites.
We're picky travellers and still Thomas' apartment exceeded our expectations! This second floor two bedroom apartment is exactly as described:'modern, simply but nicely furnished, high end appliances, very very comfortable memory foam bed (we only used one of the two bedrooms but I think the other bed was the same quality), well stocked kitchen, an incredibly accommodating gracious host. The best part part though was the location...a five minute walk to either St. Laurent or Saint. Denis or ten minutes to Mont Royal Avenue where you'll find loads of diverse often very moderately priced excellent restaurants (Au pied du couchon is a ten minute n walk if you want a real treat though it is a bit more expensive than some of the other local restaurants it is ABSOLUTELY worth it. Tri Express on Laurier if you don't mind a 20 min walk or quick uber ride, L'Avenue Plateau on Mont Royal Avenue, and tons of local coffee shops). We loved the neighbourhood so much, like Times Square in Manhatten, we would probably never return to Old Montreal again. At every turn there is another shop or another restaurant and only on the main streets will you find big chain stores. The rest were local and interesting. After we'd spent a few days here I went back to VRBO to see if I would have chosen anything else and I wouldn't have. Great spot, lovely owners, and a great city. What's not to love??!!
Ps the stairs up to the apartment are a bit steep -like virtually EVERY apartment in Montreal - so if you have trouble with stairs ask for pictures to make sure you can manage.
We're a group of friends in our 30s. First time for some to Montreal. A wonderful stay from start to finish. Thomas was extremely responsive from the beginning and stopped by to greet us when we arrived. Booking was a cinch without having to wait for response. Before arrival, we got a helpful info pack including a great section on how to park (we didn't have a car but still very thoughtful).
The apartment was very clean and much bigger than expected. Very comfortable and quiet with modern amenities in addition to amazing location. Diverse and delicious cafes and restaurants within few blocks. Easy to walk to downtown where the Jazz festival was in full swing - close without any of the noise.
Really enjoyed this vacation and looking forward to many more here!
