We didn't want to stay in the hectic area of Waikiki, so this was the perfect location for all the places we wanted to see in our 3 days on Oahu. Pearl Harbor, Aloha Bowl swap meet, the highway to the North Shore, Polynesia Cultural Center, Byodo-in Temple, etc. It's small, but efficient and the views are spectacular! We had birds eye view to several rainbows. The parking worked fine and the owner was very responsive and accommodating..
We had plans to spend 2 full days at Pearl Harbor, and this condo couldn't have been any better located. The Salt Lake area is easy to get around in. Besides Pearl Harbor, we drove up to Ka'ena Point, spent time in downtown Honolulu, and climbed Diamond Head. The parking space is convenient to the entrance to the elevators and we had no problems with our Jeep Patriot. The view was great, the condo clean, and Mr Jeffers made my first booking with VRBO a breeze! If you are looking for a secure, easily accessible, affordable place to stay, this is it!
This is a really fantastic lodging option for Honolulu. I know it's not the typical tourist location in Waikiki, but we loved being in the Salt Lake area and the "local" feel from being in this part of town. I love the fact that Safeway is just up the Street. I spent unfortunate amounts of money buying poke every time we headed back to the condo.
It's not the typical tourist location, but we were happy with how it was still convenient to other popular sights. It was closer to Pearl Harbor and Aloha Stadium for the swap meet. The 99 Ranch market with a ton of lunch options food-court style, was about a 2 minute drive. With the H3 right there, it's a quick shot over to Kanaohe if you want to see Byodo-In or anything else on that side of the island. Metro Honolulu and everything that goes along with it (Chinatown, Ala Moana, Waikiki, Punchbowl, Diamond Head) was a short drive or bus ride away as long as you're not driving right in the heart of rush hour. And even though leaving is always the worst part, there's a printer that we used for boarding passes, and it was extremely close and convenient to the airport.
The unit itself is very nice and an incredible value. It makes great use of the space. We were definitely the "get out and go" type while visiting, but the condo has nice comfortable chairs, and an air-conditioner (although the unit stays pretty cool without running the A/C with the fans and ventilation). Great, fully-functional little kitchen with everything you need with staples and cookware. We cooked a nice Portuguese sausage, eggs, and rice breakfast cooked in the kitchen and enjoyed on the nice little table a few times. The parking was a HUGE benefit for us with the rental car. The spaces are definitely "Honolulu-sized" but we got our Subaru Forester in and out with no problem. There's some noise from the street, but it was comparable or less than most other places we've stayed; being so high up in the building is nice for noise and privacy.
There are some previous reviews that state there's no bathroom door. When we stayed there was a sliding partition that is basically the same thing as a door. There's another one between the living/kitchen area and the bedroom.
The owner/operator was very helpful and prompt with response and communication, just an overall great guy. We like to visit Oahu as often as we can and will definitely stay here again if it's available for our future trips!
I enjoyed my stay at this condo. It is away from Wakiki which I was looking for, I needed something close to downtown. I would recommend this condo
It was nice, clean and easy commute. The bus #3 can take you whatever you want to go. You don't need to rent a car.
We recently visited Hawaii for the first time, it won't be the last. The reason we came to Hawaii was for a family wedding. We had know idea where we wanted to stay so I did some research. We wanted to be centrally located and near the airport. I had a list of attractions I wanted to see and things I wanted to do on Oahu. I mapquested my adventures and ended up picking this gem of a condo for our accommodations.
The condo is in a great location and the other tenants in the building were friendly. The description of the condo is accurate, it's small. It's small but perfect for 2 people. The bed was comfortable and the kitchen was stocked with all the necessary cooking utensils and dinnerware. Cleaning supplies were accessible and the buildings laundry room was clean. My only complaint would be the same complaint seen in other reviews, the parking. Parking is tight! It's tight but totally doable. My husband even figured out the "short cut" into the building.
I owners were easy to deal with and quick to respond to emails. The whole experience was a good one. We will totally try to book here again when we return to Hawaii.
