We were visiting this property just before and during the recent rains in South Carolina. In fact, the Isle of Palms where this property is located received 24 inches of rain. Consequently, we were unable to fully enjoy the property and area. In fact, we cut our stay short by three days due the situation there and back at our home. As far as the property is concerned, there are a number of items to be addressed. Overall, the Port O' Call buildings are dirty with mildew and damaged wood. They need a good cleaning and painting. 301 F needs wood repair and painting on the widows walk and the screen porch. The screen needs to be replaced. The sliding glass doors easily come off the track and either need some attention or replacement. Several of the window blinds don't work well and need to be replaced. The living room lamps need to be updated and replaced with better lighting for reading. The tvs are a hodgepodge of controls and difficult to operate since there is no instruction or channel guide. We were unable to use the screen porch due to the heavy, blowing rain. When this was occurring , water was coming through the wall in the entry area. At first I thought the water was coming in around the window but it wasn't. We did find the condo clean and furnished as described. We were notified in advance by the property manager that the elevator was being replaced and may not be operational by the time of our visit. Since we were on the third floor this would have been an inconvenience had we not been notified. The unit did meet our expectations on beachfront location and we were disappointed that the rain prevented us from enjoying it and the Charleston area. We would stay there again, especially if the items mentioned above were addressed.
We have been coming to IOP for years and by far this unit had the best views of the ocean. You can see the ocean even in the kitchen it was amazing. The unit itself is pretty warn down, doors wouldn’t shut properly, the deck had holes in it, and even the screen was damaged on the porch. We decided that all of the maintenance issues was not horrible just because we loved the convenience of being so close to the beach. Overall if this place was updated it would be five stars hands down one of the best properties, but because this unit hasn’t been what seems like updated since the 90's we have to give it three stars. The beach is amazing we were able to see tons of starfish and the tide pools were the best place for our baby to test out the ocean.
If you are looking for a quiet community with a gorgeous beach and access to tennis and golf...this is it! Also, Beachside Vacations was a great management company to work with.
The layout is so unique to all of the accommodations of this size we have enjoyed in the past. The oceanfront screen porch and spiral staircase that leads to a rooftop balcony make this unit a gem.
The property is very clean, with all of the necessities for a comfortable stay. The beach was so beautiful and so close that we felt we were on the beach while sitting in our screen porch. We called our time on the upper deck in the evening our "happy hour" as we sat an enjoyed a glass of wine enjoying the ocean with the breeze in our hair. It was very romantic. We enjoyed our privacy and had a very relaxed vacation. The ocean views are unmatched by any property we have enjoyed on the Carolina coast. Thank you so much. We would not hesitate to book with you again. We are in the process of planning for next summer as we coordinate our schedules we will be contacting you soon.
We had an awesome time renting at your unit. The unit is comfortable and dolphins played in ocean just off the shore. Sand dollars and starfish hid in the sparkling white sand.
I met a group of wealthy, retired ladies who advised that after traveling the world over, this is the best beach in the world.
We had a fantastic experience at 301 F Port O Call for our anniversary vacation! Everything was in perfect order. The condo was well maintained and very well stocked with everything we might need. The views from the balcony and screened in porch were superb. Every aspect of our stay - from the quick response time and friendly staff to easy check-in and check-out to the beautiful condo - was perfect. The bed was comfortable too! We will definitely go back!
The location of the oceanfront condo was spectacular! The ocean was viewable from the living area, kitchen, and bedroom. The screened porch was accessible from both the bedroom and living rooms and was covered. We enjoyed our coffee there each morning before heading down to the beach. The only areas for improvement that we would recommend is the water pressure on the third floor was very weak. The water from the showerhead wasn't much more than a dribble. Also, it would've been nice if the kitchen was a bit better stocked with even some salt and pepper, etc.
But these inconveniences would not keep us from returning to the fabulous oceanfront location! Spectacular!
