We loved staying here! It was in a great location!

This condo was perfect for our New Year's vacation. We had four adult couples and the space was great. The mudroom was perfect for all our snow gear when we came back after a long day. The family room/dining room and kitchen was a large area to hang out and relax all together! The booking process was very easy and the office answered any questions I had. Don, the property manager, was fantastic. He was always available when we had question before and during the trip. We used the grocery delivery service, which was fantastic, so that we did not have to pack groceries. I would absolutely recommend this rental to anyone looking to visit the Whiteface/Lake Placid.

Peaceful and Relaxing.

My family has been skiing over 25 years, with our kids in tow. This a perfect location for anyone who loves to ski and relax, with the family or your spouse. The condo is spacious and soft. The dining area is perfect for quick dinner or entertaining after a day on the slopes, it is easy in and out. It is 5 minutes from Whiteface, and 20 min from Lake Placid. The The sleeping accomodations are comfy and inviting. I have been an instructor well over 25 years, believe me this is the choice of skiers.

Not what was expected

The one good: Don is an excellent property mgr. and was very attentive and interested in us enjoying our vacation.

There were many problems with a relatively new property that made our stay less than enjoyable. Examples: toilet seat broken; musty smell throughout (worse in basement - took three cans of spray to be habitable); only 2 knives in kitchen; glasses, pans and plates were dirty and had to be washed before could be used; bed in basement is too high (had to climb into it and almost fell off trying to get on); stained carpet; towels smell very musty and had ground in dirt - washed all towels, but once they were put in the dryer, they smelled again; bean bag stools in basement smell musty, need to be thrown out; took four dryer cycles to dry clothes/towels

Resposta do proprietário: Hello David, Thank you for your feedback on your stay at the Owaissa Club. I sincerely apologize that your experience was not more favorable. When I received your review, I immediately went to the Owaissa Club and researched all of your concerns. Although I did not smell the musty odor that you referred to, I did remove the bean bag stools from the bottom floor as a precautionary measure. I checked both toilet seats and did not find one broken. Could you tell me which seat it was? The townhouse had already been cleaned since your stay, so all of the dishware was clean upon my inspection. This is not to say, if for some reason the previous renters put items away dirty, the cleaner may have overlooked this. If there are not dishes in the sink or dishwasher, she may not have checked to make sure everything that was in the cabinets were clean. This is now on her check list. I did not find a lack of knives in the townhouse. There were 11 table knives in the drawer and a set of cutting knives on the counter. The towels are heavy and it does take time for them to dry in the stackable dryer. As a result of you bringing this to our attention, we are purchasing towels of the same high quality, but not as heavy, so the dry time is more reasonable. I personally did not smell anything unusual on the towels, but that is not to say you didn't, as smell is a very individual sense. We are committed to all of guests having an exceptional experience. Your feedback has been very valuable as it directs us as to where we need to improve to accomplish our goal.

Relaxing Stay

It was very nice that the drive was only 6 mins to the ski resort and about 25 minute drive to Lake Placid. The condo was very relaxing after a long day of skiing at Whiteface with a fire place, board games or cards available to play and very comfortable beds.

Great location and great accommodations!

The property lived up to the listing and description. Very comfortable, immaculate, and spacious. The location in proximity to Whiteface and to Lake Placid made it ideal. The property manager made great recommendations for things to do after skiing ski and where to dine. Apparently he is also first rate concierge! We would love to come back in the future and would recommend it enthusiastically to anyone.

Comforts of Home, Minutes to the Slopes

Before I comment on the actual property I need to comment on Don the property manager. During our stay, we experienced some car trouble due to the cold weather. We were four people, so we weren't sure if the tow truck could bring us all home. Feeling kind of helpless we called Don to ask him to help us arrange a taxi to get us to the town-home. He offered to pick us up himself. He also offered to help us if we needed a rental as well. Thanks Don!

Now I will comment on the actual property.This property is about 3 miles from Whiteface Mountain and about 20 minutes from Lake Placid. The most important thing for me when staying away from home is cleanliness, and that’s exactly what we got. Everything else was just a bonus. Nicely furnished, and thoughtfully decorated. The town home was spacious and had little added touches that made all the difference. It was definitely designed with skiers/snowboarders in mind. The mudroom made it easy for my kids to put on and take off all their gear, and the cute hooks everywhere helped keep everything tidy. I would definitely stay here again!
