April stay at Sanibel Moorings - not a "Tropical Garden View"

The vacation rental was clean.
I was very happy with the location.
I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental.
Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental.

The beach is beautiful, although the beach furniture is 2 chairs (non-reclining) and no umbrellas are provided as prior to the hurricane. The property itself is still a construction zone, lots of trucks, deliveries, and activity. Guests in the second floor units, construction in the first floor units. Our unit was outdated and some of the furnishings were not in good shape. Mattress was uncomfortable, upholstery was stained, not clean. Landscaping is very sparse, you will be looking at a lot of mulch and not much in the way of grass/plants. It is going to take a long time to restore the grounds. The staff is as helpful as always! Many of the restaurants have re-opened and are not busy (in April) - try Wickies near the lighthouse beach. Internet access is through Starlink, you may need to re-start frequently but otherwise OK. Our unit had cable TV. You can enjoy your stay there, but it best to know in advance that you won't have the Sanibel Moorings experience you had pre-Hurricane Ian. I would have preferred to know PRIOR to booking more about the actual conditions.
