It was a pleasure to meet our host Steve, he was accommodating and communicative. We enjoyed our three night stay at the house immensely, it was near everything as we walked everywhere from the house. Parking was not an issue as right in front of the house was a private parking lot which charged us $48 Candian for three days which was very resonable - we never once needed the car during our stay. The house is well equipped with very comfortable beds, we had the best sleep ever outside of our own house, the bathroom is newly renovated and had lots of hot water for showers or baths! We would surely return to the city, it is vibrant and full of history. The food scene is amazing, we were very lucky to eat at some excellent restaurants. Staying at an apartment/house made a huge difference than staying at an impersonal hotel. Thanks again, Steve.
It was in a really good location. The apartment was ok, the beds were comfortable, the sitting space less so. The kitchen was quite well equipped. We had a few problems with the locks, they were quite difficult, in fact we failed to lock the back door. Steve repaired the downstairs lock while we there and hopefully will fix the back door one. One other problem we found was that the noise from upstairs travelled down as we found when the people upstairs had a party one night until 3 am. Overall it was a good place to stay with maybe a few issues that can be fixed. Recommend Lengende, a restaurant close by. market handy for food,
We loved the location- close to market, lower city and upper city, restaurants galore and close to parking. Everything was within walking distance.
The apartment had everything we needed- fully furnished kitchen, washer, dryer, newly renovated bathroom. The bedroom was spacious and comfortable.
Lastly, the owner was personable and very knowledgeable about events around the city and the area. In fact, Steve even recommended a great dog sitter 3 hrs away, so that we could go whale watching in Tadoussac. Very prompt at returning emails and communications.
This has been a wonderful place for our family to stay. It is clean, has ambiance, and comfortable beds! I loved the location. It's right a cross from a market and I can easily walk into the old town. My husband has arthritis and has been able to take a bus to the upper city, or to other sections of the lower city. We can see the bus stop from our window. We've been watching the olympics in French (of course). My two teenage boys brought their bikes and have been biking around. The kitchen has everything we need. :) I am especially happy about the cast iron frying pans. --- There is a great big bathtub/shower in a beautifully tiled bathroom. The owner, Steve, is great! He met us here at the apartment, and has answered any text queries we had quickly.
Nous avons passé un excellent séjour, dans un appartement avec beaucoup de charme et tout le nécessaire, nous permettant de bien profiter. Son emplacement, avec le marché d'agriculteurs en face, les pistes cyclables à notre porte et des restos pour tous les goûts, est idéal. Je recommande définitivement ce petit bijou. Merci à Steve pour son accueil chaleureux nous reviendrons avec grand plaisir.
We stayed here for 30 days in June and July. The location of this condo is perfect for sight-seeing and exploring. Just outside the historical wall, everything was within walking distance. Bus stop a short block away, amazing Farmer's Market (with incredible produce and seafood) was visible from the front windows and just about 100 meters walk. The main tourism area of the city, including Chateau Frontenac, was a short, 5 minute walk up the hill, and everything from the Citadel, to the Parliament Building, to the Plains of Abraham was less than 15 minutes away on foot. Beyond that, there is frequent bus service to points further out.
The condo is in an historic building. The queen sized bed is quite comfortable, and the living area and kitchen are ample in size for two of us, plus occasional guests. There is a brand-new hide-a-bed in the living room. In the summer months, when we were there, the weather is quite variable - often very warm and humid (we are from the Western US, so aren't used to high humidity). The condo does not have A/C (which we knew when booking) but is situated so that the breeze blows though and helps cool things off.
The owner, Steve, is friendly and helpful, and very responsive if you have questions. I would highly recommend this condo for your Quebec City adventure, and would definitely stay here again!
