Our family of 5 rented for 3 nights over Christmas. 5 stars for Jim, the property manager for Killington Holiday Rentals. He worked diligently to trouble shoot our issues. It took 24 hrs to connect to wi- fi as the owner was unable to provide a usable password. Jim bought us bottled water when the water ran murky from the faucets (apparently due to plumbing work near our unit). 1 star for the the condition of the unit. It was dated; basically clean, but worn (stained bathroom tiles and grout, peeling wallpaper, worn carpet, old uncomfortable furniture). The living room heat was provided by a gas fireplace with a minimal blower, fine for our 50 degree weather but I can't imagine it would warm the room during typical VT winter weather. The mattresses were comfortable, but bedding and towels subpar. The kitchen was poorly equipped; luckily we planned on cooking breakfast only, as preparing a major meal would have been impossible with the old, worn, poor quality cookware and utensils provided. The coffee pot (which we did require) was probably 10 years old, stained, with a cracked carafe! Eating utensils, dinner and glassware all had a cloudy imbedded film which we unsuccessfully attempted to hand wash. We didn't use the dishwasher as we felt it contributed to the unusable quality of the kitchenware. The stacked washer/ dryer were difficult to access w/ no instructions attached. The washing machine knob was broken. Only 1 of our 2 keys worked. There was plenty of storage and a big mudroom area for boots, winter gear, etc.
I would definitely rent from Jm again in this complex as the location was great, but would better vet the unit.
Booked this condo last minute!!! in fact day before departure for 4 adults in same family and have to say we where all pleasantly impressed. managed to get an early checkin which was a real bonus as our 2 adult kids hit the slopes in the afternoon with the shuttle pick up being only feet away from our front door, why my wife and I went and got supplies for the stay. Yes the condo is looking a bit tired and in need of a spruce up, but was clean, some of the kitchen utensils do require upgrading ie an omelette pan and a tin opener for starters. But we cooked all our meals breakfast and evening with ease. there where several light bulbs out!!! particularly the main walk-in closest within the main bedroom. But the fire and lounge seating was very cosy and comfortable especially when returning from a full day on the slopes and the beds must have been upgraded since the last preview as they where also comfortable...But for us all it was all about the location!!! overall could not have asked for more !!!! Great skiing conditions as well... will definitely return.
We stayed at this condo for a ski vacation with our four children. Upon arrival at the rental office (one hour after earliest allowable check in time), we were told that the property may not be ready, but that it should be ready shortly. We drove the 10 minute drive to find the housekeeping staff still cleaning the unit. After a brief wait in our vehicle the staff hurried out. The unit appeared clean upon first entering, although the kitchen sink clearly had been missed. Our daughter also found a dead mouse in an upstairs closet, which appeared to have been there for some time. Other closets in the house had dirty paper cups and paper litter as well. The unit was very spacious, and the gas fireplace was a welcome aspect after skiing all day. Unfortunately the beds were not comfortable, and we discovered that the 'king' in the master bedroom was actually two twin beds pushed together. We were impressed with the snow removal outside the unit and in the parking lots, as we had over 8 inches of snow during our three-day stay (skiing conditions were amazing!), and the parking lots and sidewalks were kept immaculately clear. The condo was very close to the main Killington ski Lodge, and a shuttle bus picks up guests right at the end of the building every 10-15 minutes. All in all, the unit really needs a thorough cleaning, updating, and a supply of light bulbs, as there were at least 5 bulbs that were not working throughout the condo. We would not return.
