We thoroughly enjoyed the beautifully decorated and warm and comfortable cottage. Our hosts, Margaret and John, could not have been more gracious and helpful. We stayed almost a week and had new adventures every day. If you are looking for an experience in the beautiful French countryside, this is the perfect spot.
Tres bien placée, une propriété charmante et aménagée avev goût, juste à côté de Bellemes nous étions 4 dont deux enfants et nous avons passé un super séjour!
This wonderful petite maison was everything and more as was described on the listing. Just perfect! Clean, well furnished, great kitchen, great upstairs, and great setting convenient to most everything. Great spot from which to explore lower Normandy. Margaret and John are great hosts and always made sure we were accommodated with anything we needed. It was nice to arrive with pasta ready to go with nice bottle of wine and cheeses etc in the frig. The countryside is lovely, the village markets fun, venues on every hand. Easy to get to the Normandy beaches. I could go on but if one chooses this place you will be happy you did.
We had spent seven days in Paris in a comfortable apt and the four of us, myself, wife, daughter and son-in-law, then rented a car and drove to Margaret and John's stone cottage for six days in the latter part of July. The cottage, restored three years ago simply has it all. No detail has been overlooked. I have restored three major houses, two stone and one frame, and I know what it takes to lovingly restore and create this most homey and well designed abode.
The kitchen had everything a cook would need, plenty of all types of pots and pans, excellent cutlery, even a set of four escargot holders which we did use, buying a box of frozen escargot at the wonderful supermarket that is located a mile from the cottage.
All the beds were great. We all got great sleep and rest after hectic Paris and it's street noise, none of that here. We are talking serious quiet , night and day.
The bathroom was the only thing I was worried about before arriving because of the photo shown in their advertisement, but, surprise! Very well appointed and all fixtures were modern, a great shower, also, the room features a skylight that opens to the outside.
We picked this location because of its centrality to the North, West, and South. It all played out as we hoped.
Lastly, I would be remiss if I didn't mention Margaret and John's super friendly hospitality. They made us feel like part of the family. Thank you Margaret and John, we are coming back.
This property has been extremely well renovated. It has been very tastefully furnished to a very high standard and decorated as befits an old cottage but at the same time has a very well equipped kitchen with everything one could possibly want during a self catering stay (including a perfect and much appreciated welcoming pack) + a lovely modern bathroom. A lot of attention to detail is evident in the bedrooms and the beautiful lounge. The standard throughout is excellent - you won't be disappointed and I
would definitely recommend to friends and relations for a stay in this lovely rural area with charming villages close by excellent restaurants providing wonderful food and wine (as only the French can do) and a national park/forest to walk or cycle it off! Thank you for a wonderful stay.
After a week in Paris, this was just the place we need for relax and exploring the french countryside! The cottage was very clean and we loved the decoration. My Children loved this place better than in Paris, they loved the cows in the farm next to us and almost fed them everyday! We were able to pick apples, pears and plums from fruit trees in the backyard! There were few towns just 5-25 km away from us, and you can get the map around this area at the information center in Belleme, The lady there can speak English and will help you a lot for this trip. We had a wonderful week to stay in this cottage!
Adjacente ao Belleme, 2. 5 horas de carro de Paris.
