Perfect Condo for a Month's Stay

Over the last three years my husband and I have had the good fortune of staying in Palmar 3E a total of 7 months. The condo is immaculate. Housekeeping does an amazing job on a weekly basis. Everything you could think of or want for your stay is provided in this well equipped condo. Matt and Elizabeth have spared no expense in furnishing the condo. The new gas grill was appreciated! The thing that we really love about this condo is the location of the bedroom which makes for quiet, comfortable sleeping. The central A/C was appreciated during our stay in August. Unlike some rentals in Cozumel, you can flush toilet paper here and also drink the water. In addition, they provide bottled water in 5 gallon containers for no charge. There is security at the front gate as well. The pool is always quiet and there is no need to get up early to get a chair by the pool. It really is like your own private resort complete with pool cabanas. The location of Palmar allows for easy walking to town or out to the marina for diving. Included in the condo is a washer and dryer, satellite TV, phone to the US and a local phone. A nice variety of DVD's, books, and games are also available. An advantage of renting from Matt and Elizabeth is that they live in the building. If you have any questions, they are available to answer them or fix anything that you need. It is the perfect rental for a vacation in Cozumel. It was a pleasure to come back to this beautiful condo after a day of diving or sightseeing. We can't wait to come back again next summer!

Can't Wait to Go Back

Matt & Elizabeth are true professionals. They take their vacation rentals seriously and have though of everything that their guests may need. Upon booking, we received an e-mail with tons of useful information about our booking. They helped us to prepare for our trip and provided recommendations for Dive Shops (we used Dive with Martin) and car rentals ($44 for a week at Fox rental from the Airport). The property exceeded our expectations. There were plenty of linens and the kitchen was well stocked. We cooked 2 meals a day at the Condo and not once were left wanting for any type of kitchen appliance. M&E stock the kitchen like a home, not a rental. On-site laundry facilities made packing for our trip easier as well. With regards to Palmar itself, here are the highlights: (1) 24 hour manned security entrance (2) great resort style pool and amenities (3) great location close to plenty of food, without being too close to the "busy" part of town.

My husband and my's passion is scuba diving and we foresee many trips to Cozumel. I really don't know why we would stay anywhere else.

Beyond anything we could have expected!

First let me state that we have been visiting Cozumel for about 15 years, and over the course of time graduated from a high end hotel to a rented condo the past six years or so. We have always been happy. This was a change of venue and our first time renting Elizabeth and Matt's place at Palmar. This time we not happy- we were ecstatic!

Rather than ramble on- here is what we loved (loved, loved, loved)

The place is BEAUTIFUL. The layout, the lofted bedroom, his and hers bathrooms (guess who claimed the ensuite?) Yup.

Furnishings were lovely, patio was huge with a gorgeous view of the pool area and ocean. We had our own Weber grill, we never used it, but we could have.

Laundry room with nicer washer/dryer than my unit at home.

Everything was immaculate. I mean IMMACULATE.

Most of all, the owners thought of everything we might need and made sure it was there. Lots of quality towels and linens, a fully stocked kitchen with not only the essentials, but a welcome basket of snacks and a bottle of wine. Every thing you could imagine from sunblock, to insect repellent, laundry detergent, hairspray, first aid, oh- I could go on but it would take forever. These folks love their guests and it shows in every little detail. The property is safe, well maintained, and every single person we came in contact from security to the landscapers were absolutely lovely people who seemed happy we were there.

There was cable and phone service, a dvd player, board games, books, floaties for the pool, a cooler for the beach.

Okay, I'm rambling. My only regrets are that

a.) it took this long to find this place, I would have never compromised elsewhere

b.) we are so grateful but reluctant to leave a review because we can't imagine coming to Cozumel and staying anywhere else. I don't want to share it with the world!

Sleek beautiful and comfortable

We loved this condo from the second we opened to door to the panoramic ocean view. The decor is pretty and modern. The kitchen and bath are well stocked. We had everything we needed to prepare meals and we were within easy walking distance to a variety of good restaurants. The phones for local and US calls were an unexpected treat.

We met Elizabeth and Matt and their dogs our first day in the condo. When there was a problem with the building's water supply, they took care of everything, even flushing the toilet!

We will definitely enjoy this condo during our next visit to Cozumel.

We loved it!

This was our first visit to Cozumel and we loved the condo! It has a great view, was very peaceful, clean and roomy, and in a great location - not right in the middle of the noisy downtown but also not so secluded that we were too far from anything. The view from the porch was fabulous! We loved that it had two bathrooms, vaulted ceilings, a large, open kitchen/living area, and a washer and dryer. We felt right at home immediately and Elizabeth & Matt were so friendly and super responsive the couple of times we had questions. Both Cozumel and the condo were beautiful and very relaxing and just what we were looking for. Cozumel is our new favorite beach destination and we plan to stay in this exact condo unit again when we come back.

First Trip to Cozumel

This property looked great on its listing - we were NOT disappointed! Our first time in Cozumel, we booked a 3-week visit. The condo was very comfortable, nicely decorated and VERY clean; it was well laid out (having 2 full bathrooms was really nice, especially when my sister joined us for 6 days); it was supplied with everything we could need (loved having a dishwasher as well as a laundry in the unit); and the swimming pool with shade pergolas was very restful and convenient (just one floor down). The location was also good: not too far from downtown when we wanted to wander through the museum & the shops or go to restaurants that were not within walking distance (Guido's and La Mission were the BEST!) but far enough away from downtown that we had some less busy space. The close-by view of the southern cruise ship pier was nice - amazing to see the size of the ships and there sure are lots of them to see, 6 days a week! Elizabeth was a terrific host and very responsive when we had questions or needed some assistance, including advice on the best medical facility to use when I needed some help.

We found the people of Cozumel to be very friendly, food in grocery stores and at restaurants was quite reasonably priced and the island itself was nice to explore (generally calmer waters on the west coast, lots of big waves & minimal development on the east coast). If you want to explore just the west coast, walking and using taxis will suffice. The Mega grocery store via taxi is terrific for anything you need, as well as the convenience store right at the condo. But to explore the whole island, you'll need to rent a car for a couple of days.

My favorite tourist activity, besides the museum, was an entertaining, guided horseback ride at Rancho Buenavista through the ranch's acreage with actual and replica Mayan ruins as well as caves.

Our only disappointment was the snorkelling, which is the primary activity that we seek on a Caribbean island. Shore snorkelling mostly had only dead coral, rocks & limited fish, primarily a result of Hurricane Wilma in 2006. We went out once on a boat but that particular day was windy and there was too much sand in the water for us to even go to the off-shore reefs. So we have to rate Cozumel as "not great" for snorkelling, especially from the shore, but for a beginner snorkeler it could be fine.

Overall, we loved the condo and the island, but less than happy with the snorkelling.

O quarto principal tem uma cama king size e banheiro privativo. A sala de estar é um espaçoso piso plano aberto e há um sofá-cama queen size e futon em tamanho maior, tornando a unidade perfeita para as famílias. A cozinha gourmet tem todos os aparelhos de gama alta e está totalmente equipada com todos os suprimentos necessários culinárias. O enorme terraço de 400 metros quadrados, oferece uma excelente vista para o mar, piscina e belos jardins.

Palmar está localizado ao sul do Town Center Cozumel. Fica a uma curta distância de actividades de desportos aquáticos, restaurantes e lojas. Há clubes de praia em frente ao hotel que oferecem espreguiçadeiras, comida, bebida e aluguel de desportos aquáticos. Não é um ótimo local para mergulho com snorkel só atravessar a rua e mergulho pegar docas, também.
