We were fortunate to be able to spend several months in this wonderful condo in Pelican Preserve, Fort Myers. The condo is spotlessly clean, bright, comfortable and well equipped. It is situated in the centre of the Ravenna condo buildings within the compound and as such has what I think is the best view in the area. We spend wonderful hours watching the birdlife along the lake's edge, the golfers, and an occasional lazy alligator as we sat on the tiled screened lanai.
We appreciated the very comfortable king sized bed in the MB, and the sofa/loveseat combo in the living room. The furniture is all new. We also enjoyed the option of having a larger dining table on the lanai, and this year we were blessed with many warm evenings when we could enjoy our evening meal with family and guests out there.
We found the landlord vey responsive and helpful. If I had a question, she responded immediately and was very accommodating.
Pelican Preserve itself is a terrific place to spend the winter. A gated over-55 community, it is designed for active living. We were able to take advantage of the excellent fitness facility, the indoor lap pool, the outdoor resort pool (which is big and has plenty of chairs), and the special social activities that are many and varied. The nature preserve is huge bonus, with acres of natural vegetations and trails...no crazy whizzing cars when you are out for a walk or run. It is very very peaceful!
The community location within Ft Myers is also great. The only slight drawback is the longer drive to the beach area, but everything else is close-the airport, shopping, restaurants, cinemas, and the traffic in this part of the city is considerably less than in some of the others.
I can recommend Pelican Preserve, and this particular condo without reservation. It is an exceptional vacation property and head and shoulders above many others we viewed in the FM area.
